I will grant and even endorse that cynicism, but isn’t it good that CE in certain roles has been formalized and resourced such that those who are in between your hypothetical box checker and conscientious autodidact have incentives and resources better lined up to have somewhat meaningful CE to serve their industry?
Well, I can't speak for other industries. And I suppose you're right, that in some cases it might force someone to take a useful CE class that they wouldn't take otherwise. But overall, is the juice worth the squeeze? I don't think so. CE is expensive, and many look for the cheapest credits they can find, or least inconvenient, which is usually a home study course that you barely listen to. They're not necessarily looking for the most useful.Quote:

I dunno about lawyers, but I have little problem imagining the value of CE for the mortgage guy. I work with plenty of his peers and they can take a break and learn about how the world has changed/other areas of the business for a minute.Quote:
