Right? In my BMW at least it’s just a bulb, expensive one, but at least it’s only the bulb. You have to take the tire and turn it to the inside then remove the tire, and attack the space for the bulb from the backside. I don’t know whose hand is that small to get in there. There’s probably a specific tool that the dealers have, but I ain’t gonna buy that.Quote:

Every time I swap my tires for winters I have to go back to the shop to have the TPMS manually reset. Every time I went into America's Tire the same thing happened--I'd tell them about it, they say no problem and then maybe 5 miles down the road the light would come on. Never while the car is still in the lot. This year I had my regular mechanic change the tires after AT fucked up a bunch of bolts last time. Same problem. 2018 Forester. AT claims the TPMS should manually reset but mine doesn't. So tomorrow back to the mechanic. It's tempting to ignore the light.

Probably four or five cars ago I got the snows and wheels and didn’t really think about getting TPMS sensors and of course the yellow light stayed on. So I thought OK, great, next time I’ll get the TPMS sensors. We got a Prius. I order the snow tires with the TPMS sensors mounted in the wheels, and the program for the Prius only allows one set of tires to be loaded into the car’s system. WTF? And… they charge I think 200 bucks to reprogram it each time. I don’t pay it. So 6 months with the light 6 months w/o.
I guess this should go in the wife thread, but because of this, my wife wants to order the new Prius.
Any chance a $30 OBD2 dongle and Torque Pro (or a similar, Toyota-specific app) would let you reprogram yourself?Quote:

Anybody ever have a Marker or any binding “explode” in their face?
-At shop on Saturday….was taking a customers Marker Squires off a trashed Line park ski and was mounting them on to a new pair of Volkls….common at our shop/have done many times…
While finishing up the 2nd ski, and getting the heel ready to slide onto the Marker track…..I was adjusting the heel screw to be able to catch the track, and all of a sudden…the spring/metal pieces exploded into my face and right eye….
Lost vision for about 5 minutes/ then very hazy vision/ hurt like hell….so I texted my eye doctor,…..he came to shop/ and got me to his office to examine the damage. He got me 3 prescriptions that have really helped a lot….and yesterday I had a laser procedure at WillsEye Retina to repair tear in my retina. I’ve been home bound the past 4 days/ sucks I’m blowing through sick days at my regular job….
Vision is coming back to normal/ just still “hurts” from the impact/trauma to the eye. Both doctors feel confident it will heal in time.
Many thanks to my doctor (a skier) for really helping me out…gonna get him some lift tickets for him/family to use this winter.
Have installed hundreds of Markers…but this was a first….anybody ever heard/witnessed a binding exploding like this??
Yes, I will be wearing safety glasses from here on out…installs and/or tunes.
^wtf! Sorry man! That is so scary. And no, never heard of that ever happening in my ski tech days. Seems to me that Marker needs to give some compensation on this one. Not sure how that works, but worth looking into maybe.

Neighbors putting in a side entrance to their basement and plan on renting it out to randoms. Will mean more cars parking in front of my house and just generally a more trashy street experience. Thanks guys…all reported to my employer the day it happened/claim filing process in effect. Assuming anything not covered by my insurance/ will be covered by doing all the PA workman’s comp paperwork.
It’s been a good past two days/ seems to really be getting close to normal.
As said above, It will/should ALL be covered by worker's comp. Your personal insurance will likely refuse to pay anything if they know it happened when you were clocked in at work.Quote:

This fucking rentals hot water is all over the place. Some days its cool, some days its warm, and every now and then its hot. Just had the most disappointing shower after a long run, got the thermometer on it, 103 degrees. Sounds hot, but I'm now shivering. If it were my place I;d just go turn the water heater up, but no, gotta go through the landlord who is old.
