Yeah, thanks mods. Never complained but glad to see the thread moved. I clicked way too many times hoping to see pics of rockets but only ever saw very large images of text. The IFT-5 landing burn is very photogenic:

I don't get it, why can't you just look at it in Poliass?
WTF? Leaving the forum because a fucking thread got moved to a different sub-forum? That is some weak shit. Seriously, this is one of the lamest tantrums I've ever seen here and that's saying something. I hope you haven't actually left because I think you need to distance yourself a bit from this and look at how weird this behavior is.Quote:

This wasn’t THE reason, just the last one. It’s not trying to be some bs circle jerk popularity contest, but it is one just the same and I’m pretty over that too. If being a mod is so thankless and hard why make it worse by this kinda bullshit? That’s annoying.
So, I deleted the app. It’s mostly the same thing. The html version is worse, somehow, so doubt you’ll see me much from here. It’s a good thing. I’ve been working on decluttering. Tell your dog I said hi.
I tried the app once and it sucked. I tried Tapatalk once and it sucked too because it kept the pictures from the NSFW thread in plain view.
Both of those are annoying.
I use the black and white metro mobile setting on my phone. I like it. On a computer I use the blue setting as Dog intended.
Not sure what large format old person phone you’re using, but you can get to polyass from the app just fine
The biggest problem with the app is how it tries to turn numbers into emoji codes (at least via iOS)
It also does video differently
But the lack of ads is huge and the screen dedicated to just thread makes it still the better viewing option imho
The image preview can be turned off in the settings so that nsfw imgs don’t show in your first forum screen
I don't have any adds using b&w metro mobile in my browser. I'm looking at this right now on my phone in Chrome with no add blocker.
I thought everyone posted from a cream-colored desktop and tube monitor.
The announcement of the withdrawal of the $7500 EV tax credit would’ve brought the Elon thread back to a discussion of Tesla, but I guess we’ll never know.
The reasons (technical or otherwise) people avoid polyass have been discussed here plenty.
But assuming Elon has a role in the new administration, his thread would’ve gone poly eventually.
Huh, I don't have any of those problems coming from the same post office. Stuff that shows up in that email shows up in the mailbox when it says it will and it comes on what seems like a reasonable amount of time.
The only one I have on occasion is if USPS is delivering a parcel but the package is too big to fit in the lock boxes...10-20% of the time I think they are too lazy to actually bring it to the door step so they just don't attempt to deliver it. Almost always shows up the next day. I like to think this only happens when the regular postman is off duty and the fill-in guy just leaves extra work for him when he gets back.
I've inherited my previous owner's junk mail. Guy's wife was on every single mailing list you could be on...I'm getting catalogs every day, often from clothing/furniture companies I've never even heard of. And they all say "Or Current Resident" so they don't get forwarded.
Although the post office has also done a terrible job of forwarding mail. We get a fair amount of the previous owner's mail...which makes me wonder how much of our own mail isn't getting forwarded.
Also annoying: at my last place I got a lot of fundraising junk addressed to some dude with my same last name. Lots of the like...sad full color cleft lip mailers, that kind of stuff. Never got them where I lived before that so I assumed it was just a coincidence that a former resident had the same name (and the post office was now delivering it because the name on the box matched)
I was real excited for those mailers to disappear when I moved. Nope. Somehow all of those fundraising agencies have updated this dude's address in their systems and it is now addressed to that guy at my new address. WTF?
Dang. They bring things to your door step? USPS has never once brought something to my house. If a package is too big for the box, they'll leave a "sorry we missed you tag" and I'll go pick the package up at the post office. Although about 20% of the time they can't find the package because the delivery guy didn't bother unloading it off the truck. And about 5% of the time the guy doesn't leave the package or a tag, and the box just gets returned to the sender as undeliverable because I didn't know I had a package that I needed to go pick up (this happens about once a year).

The post office drops off packages at my door if they don't fit in the mail box, and they have to drive almost a1/4 mile to do this.

Do you know the first name of your mail carrier? I do. She brings any package too big for the box to the door and signs for it if I'm not home. Whatever USPS issues you are dealing with it will only get worse.
Well that sucks. I guess that's the benefit of living on a paved road in a dense neighborhood...Everything's a tradeoff, but I think I've only had to go get something at the post office once in the last 3 years (but it wasn't actually there because it hadn't been unloaded from the truck).
Nothing beats the mail service I got when I lived in a high rise on Chicago's north side. Place had a loading dock, a package receiving room, and at least once-daily visits by every major carrier and Amazon. Packages always came and never got stolen.
Since the carrier trucks were there daily, you could also send/return packages of any size without having to go to the post office or UPS store.

OK folks, time to take down the Trump and Harris lawn signs. Enough with the virtue signaling, or whatever you call a Trump sign--asshole signaling?
