Shit that annoys you

You can get wifi from a shoe on the side of the road these days.

But I get it, much easier to say "Sorry boss, I couldn't make sales projections this month because the cell network was down for two hours on a Thursday. When can I expect to get my last paycheck?"

This isn't the "shit that is crippling" thread, this is the "shit that annoys you" thread. For someone whose job on the road and who makes cell calls frequently, I think the cell network being down qualifies as annoying, even if there are workarounds for those times where you are not actually, ya know, on the road.

I've been noticing these quite a bit lately and assumed there must be a law requiring it for new vehicles or something. Seems like an odd thing to add after market, then again people do lots of customizations to cars that I don't understand.

It's also a "solutions" for minor annoyances thread.

For me, it's a place to identify people who couldn't tie their shoes without falling down an open elevator shaft. It's also a place to figure out who's childless and likely to remain that way.

Pretty sure GL is an indy rep working for himself. And having been on the road in sales, no cell coverage these days is absolute hell. You're working as you're driving to the next appt. Today's pace and expectations really just suck.

Working while driving. Doing anything but driving while driving.

If he stays 10 mph under the limit in the left or center lane I don't see an issue. Allows for longer reaction times.

I'm in a different space, but throughout my career I've seen top paying employers succeed and the rest fail or struggle. I've always told my employees this as well. I really think it is underrated job advise to chase the positions that pay the best. There are so many instances of 2 people doing essentially the same think for widely disparate compensation.

And I've heard a lot of talking heads speak to the "stickness" of inflation being in large part due to wage increases. Too many employees overlook their pricing power. If your boss hasn't given you a 10% raise in the last year or so "just because" you need to examine that. If you straight get hold it ain't happening, start looking elsewhere.

SERIOUSLY! The lack of a raise or even a small one is practically a pay DECREASE these days with the rampant inflation these last few years. Wife and I make ok money now but feel broker than ever since a dollar doesn't go as far. Whole world's feeling the same thing.

I've been doing nordic and skinning with the pup but I can't make turns or bend/get twisty. Getting impatient. <whine>

I hear ya, I currently am recovering from two surgeries I had done a the same time. My thumb is a serious improvement, but right now, my shoulder is way, way worse than it was before the surgery. Really frustrating.

Rib breaks are the worst and I can’t imagine having a bad cough along with that.

I survived the hard part so all good now. Worst cold/cough I've ever had- and I got the flu shot back in November. I can now see how people die from it. Was worse than covid. 103+ for two days sent me over the edge. Being buried in that 4' storm late January was also annoying b/c I couldn't shovel. Fist time ever I wanted it to stop snowing, ha.

Rideit and Jax getting rocked. Sorry kidz. Makes my little food poisoning from what seemed like good Korean food seem like whining.

Oh, rib breaks aren't that bad. I had 14 or so they tell me. Nothing that 80mg a day of oxycodone couldn't handle.
