Don't go postal on us [emoji16]

It's higher up the food chain too. We just got yet another delivery person who did not pick up packages because he was trained to only pick up 'requested' packages. WTF? The red flag is no longer a clue? The packages sat for three days and deliveries were neatly stacked in the box next to the out going. I talked to him (good guy) and he said the post master just informed him to pick up from us and one other on our route.
The previous guy was awesome but was like a sub-contractor/floater. He said it was nuts as if the USPS tried to make it harder for everyone, including having to scan every package twice for two different databases that can't talk to each other.
After covid, we might not see service at all for a week.
truth. when I am pissed about something during a convo with a CS rep, I always make sure to say something along the lines of "I know that you didn't cause this problem" or whatever, so that they don't think the angry/annoyed tone is for them.
In my experience on both sides of the customer service thing, being angry RARELY leads to better results than being super nice.
Too late. Time for a chill pill and a ski.
...and another PITA is TGR. When submitting, I keep getting the following and have to re-login:

Indeed. That's precisely why this thread is useful. We can go off in here instead of on some poor worker who has nothing to do with the asinine system their worthless management put into place. So I agree. I do not go Karen on anybody IRL FWIW. That's what this place is for. :D
The further out you park in a parking lot for retail, the more likely you are to be parking next to that shop's employees. Most are told to park as far away from the entrance as possible. So while they might park their beater literally right next to you, they likely won't be moving for the rest of the day.
This thread is like rubbing a laughing Budda's belly for luck. Whine here and like magic the package arrived.
I left a note and the postal guy said he just got he package as was guessing it was on another route. This i suspected, but the way it gets handled and updated needs work.
Went to the shop to pick up a couple replacement buckles for my old Dalbellos. Both buckles *appeared* to be comparable replacements... but upon returning home and getting the tools out, there are small enough differences that *neither* replacement buckle is going to work.
So back I go, with tools and boot in hand this time, to source buckles that work.
:nonono2:
At Palisades they will fine you for parking without a reservation but apparently you can park in a handicap spot with impunity. As long as you have said reservation.
Fuckin' TRG, amirite??

Fuckin floss stick!
I'm going with the flosser. Which is indeed annoying.
I blame the dentists.
Kinda amuses, but probably more annoying: the route that my package has taken to get to Boston so far. Note the ordering

You might want to go back and read the post again and maybe stop assuming things I didn't say. I gave no crap to the employee. Just asked questions politely because what she was telling me made no sense and she didn't seem to know the bank's policies.
Then the bank manager comes out and her main explanation for the fee is this is what we charge now and all the other banks are doing it too, so bend over and just be glad we'll cash this check at all. Guess you needed to be there but she had a lot of attitude maybe not conveyed in the post. Not cool at all for a customer facing position. You would have been cringing at her if you had been there, just like I was. I just said well I guess I won't be cashing this check now if this is how you will be treating customers.
But hey, if you think paying a $120 fee to cash a $200 cdn ($150 USD) check is cool then go for it.
Sure, sure. It all sounds very uncomfortable.
Now, though, the narrative isn’t “this guy was upset that we didn’t know what to do and he refused to pay our fees.” It’s “remember that time that guy ripped up his mom’s check in front of us?” The teller and her manager probably bonded over it.
Later, embellishments will include spittle, heel turns. Etc.
But you do you man. I’ve been there and done some of that.
I didn't see the flosser until it was pointed out, and even then, I had to zoom in.
Hey, at least every curb and snowpack doesn’t have used masks on them anymore!
The flashing brake lights you see predominately on WRX's and Nissan econoboxes. Is Walmart having a sale on these kits?
Police outfitted SUVs do that here in Massachusetts. I asked about it and he told me they can’t figure out how to make it go away once the electronics are installed despite having multiple meetings about it. Too bad it only seems to affect the brake lights.
I work part time at an outdoor store, which right now in winter is a cross-country ski shop. Guy walks in with his wife and two kids. He’s wearing a black sweatshirt, cowboy hat, cowboy boots. The black sweatshirt has writing on the front that is like a dictionary quote with big “gun control” (guhnkuhn-trohl), and some finer print that I can’t read below it. On his hip is a ginormous handgun of some kind in a holster, and also in the middle of his back is a big knife in some other sort of holster. The son is wearing camo, the daughter’s in all black. The wife is in all black as well.
This happens pretty often in Eastern Washington where I live. This Second Amendment shit is their whole existence.
I often joke that I fly fish, but I sure as shit don’t walk around with my waders on.
When you're self employed and the cell networks are down all morning and you can't make or receive any business calls. That's annoying.
Corporations: "DoN'T BlaME uS! TheRE'S a [fill in the blank job] ShoRTaGE!!!
Also those same corporations: [use overly aggresive ATS, ie auto-resume shredders] [demand wild unicorn list of job requirements that nobody could possibly fulfill] [receive thousands of applications, reject 100% of them, repost the same mythical jobs repeatedly]
Then Boomers be like: "NoBoDY waNTS to WoRK theSE daYS! Lazy millennials!"
Seriously, though. This one's starting to piss me off. Industry I'm in (and everyone else) is proclaiming to the public that they have labor shortages across the board (including my job), but behind the curtain I was straight up told in an interview that the applicant pool is (supposedly) very competitive and it's an employer's market now. Yet many of those supposed positions remain unfilled. WTF is going on? I think these assholes be lying. Keeps profits higher if they can keep work force artificially low. These days making each employee do the work of like three people. Then tell the world that there's supposedly a labor shortage. Hmmm.....
Those kinds of people are afraid of their own shadows and usually don't know how to properly handle firearms or their emotions for that matter. Wanna-be cowboy family that just sold their 2000 sq ft home in Orange County by the sounds of it and now has to compensate for his tiny pecker.
That sounds about right Montuky. It is as if these corporations don't understand (more likely attempting to manipulate) that it is a labor market.
I'm in a different space, but throughout my career I've seen top paying employers succeed and the rest fail or struggle. I've always told my employees this as well. I really think it is underrated job advise to chase the positions that pay the best. There are so many instances of 2 people doing essentially the same think for widely disparate compensation.
And I've heard a lot of talking heads speak to the "stickness" of inflation being in large part due to wage increases. Too many employees overlook their pricing power. If your boss hasn't given you a 10% raise in the last year or so "just because" you need to examine that. If you straight get hold it ain't happening, start looking elsewhere.
Come on over. https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...ntiwork/page23
