LOL, this year is just comical. Got a spider bite (pretty sure) that’s so big, it’s like a third nipple. Fucker hurts!

Flipping channels and there’s a PBA event on FS2. Looks to be a legit alley gussied up for TV.
The commercials are filled with the lanes that are all over here - Bowlero. Not a bad place at all, but not the bowling alley you’d pound 4 pitchers of Icehouse with a 7oz glass either.
72.
I'm flashing back to my go to lanes over the years.
As a kid, a favorite birthday party was going to the bowling alley somewhere in North Simsbury followed by pizza.
In the, I've got my licence and sometimes I can borrow the car and go out with friends phase, cheap candlepin was where it was at. I'm pretty sure this was the place. https://www.ducksontheave.com/
In college, we had mandatory PE credits, I tested out of skiing to save the money, but yes...I took college bowling. Thursday afternoon in South Burlington. Those lanes were an underage drinking heaven. No fucks given pitchers all around. When was the last time you even saw a pitcher of beer?
That sounds more right. Champlain Lanes? https://www.vtcng.com/shelburnenews/...3bedf2f3d.html "South of Burlington"
Yesterday in the lodge at Mission Ridge

Pitchers of beer aren't a thing anymore in some places? That's annoying.
It’s now a car wash.
If you go a bit further south on route 7 you can still find good deals on bowling.

I too took bowling to satisfy the PE credit in undergrad. The university alley was indeed an underage drinking heaven. We'd show up to roll our few games for the week and report our scores and our buddy was working the bar - pitchers of High Life and Icehouse started flowing at noon every Wednesday that quarter. Life was good.
I’ve skied with Gepeto.

Right, Champlain Lanes. Looks like they closed in 2019. Rutvegas is a 2hr drive for me. Sparetime is too fancy. The few times I went as a kid it was usually out on North Ave. Ethan Allen Lanes I think. Next to where Hannaford is now.
Only one place left to bowl in the greater Burlington area. There used to be a whole bunch. It's a dying thing. We lost the lanes in my town 30 minutes north about 15 years ago or so. It was a popular spot for kids birthday parties. It's now a brewery. 14th Star.
A friend of mine got some big chunks of the old lanes when they tore down Ethan Allen lanes. Used them as counters. There is still bowling out here in the NNE, it’s just bowling for Jesus. https://stmarksvt.com/youth-center-bowling-alley
And that reminds me, churches that have fake bells annoy me. No reason to blast your stereo so loud that we hear it blocks away. It’d be ok if they were ringing real bells but I don’t want to hear a recording blasted through crappy speakers.
