Work - dude, I’ve been in the office for 30 seconds after a week break. Chill.
Commuting - bonus points to the dickheads tailgating the ambulance and not letting people who just merged right back into the left lane with the left side exit only in 1/4 mile.
Got a coupon from Toyota dealership for a $50 oil change, brake inspection, tire rotation, fluid check, etc. so took my 4Runner in.
In the waiting room I get a call from the service tech, “everything looks good, the only recommendation is to replace your cabin air filter, it’s pretty dirty”
“How much? “
“$68 plus tax” Hahaha. What the fuck?
That’s a $10 filter and 7 seconds of labor.
The shitty thing is I bet 75% of people would probably have agreed to it (my wife for example).
Talk about a racket. Other than that, great coupon.

Jeep Grand Cherokee is the same way. There’s no way to inspect the filter without removing the glove box and the filter. I’ve been waiting to challenge a repair shop telling me the filter needs to be replaced… “so, how do you know, did you see it for yourself???”Quote:

I'm still struggling with getting rid of that furniture and a commercial sewing machine. I've tried selling it, tried giving it away and tried donating it. Yeah, the cabin air filter is a total racket. Generic parts do a fine job (judging from the amount of crap on it when I pull it out to change it) for a fraction of the price, almost trivially easy procedure, and it's even the exact same filter for my Toyota and Subaru. (Also: Dealer once put in a cabin air filter infused with some perfume crap; buy your own and get what you want unscented.) Funny, with the engine air filter, I usually get charged something in the neighborhood of what the OEM filter costs retail, plus no labor; but they go all-out to gouge on the cabin air filter.
Tundra cabin filter at autozone was $19.99 today. Took about 2 minutes to replace filter from glovebox area. Did the regular air filter too.

Sorry to hear... Not sure what has happened the last year or two but it has gotten hard to sell stuff. I used to put stuff up on CL and would get rid of things within a week or two with the usual no-shows, "hey will you take $__ cash today" low ball offers, etc. Sold some stuff end of 2021/early 2022 and I'd get a single response after 2-3 weeks, fortunately that person would actually show up and buy the item. I've had a dozen or so things listed for the last couple months, and crickets. This is useful stuff in good condition at good prices. Do I need to join FB to sell on the marketplace?Quote:

Yeah that's pretty much the problem, it was very traditional at the time and doesn't really fit any home decor now. Since the place is under contract now I'm gonna have to get help to move it outside so I can cut it into pieces since I can't cover the place in dust and sawdust and shit.
