Awww. What a sweetheart. Good on ya for taking in a senior pup, quirks and all.
Can’t remember if I wrote about the time we dog sat a pup who ate a bunch of shit and then puked it down the heat register. Good times.

I think this is a rehash, but let's just call it a greatest hits retrospective: fuck our healthcare system. My wife and I are paying about $1k/month (not through an employer) for our allegedly gold-level healthcare now, and in the first two months, we'll accomplish this: we will each have an initial visit with our new PCP.
I need a bunch of other stuff, but the PT and bunion doctors want a referral (even though it's not required by our plan, which is one of the reasons we got that plan), and mid-January was the earliest we could get appointments with PCPs. Our insurer is an HMO (I think?), and they say to call at 7:30 am each day for same day cancellations, but to my enormous surprise (/s), when you do that, you sit on hold for 20 minutes and then they tell you there aren't any appointments available.
I'd like to just say "fuck this" and fly to Mexico for everything, but of course then if there's an emergency and I have to get care in the US, it will cost us everything we own, plus our firstborn child. I mean, joke's on them, there isn't going to be any firstborn child, but still, that's expensive.

People who are oblivious to the hazards of freezing rain annoy the crap out of me.
Got an interesting craft beer. Dark ale with earl gray tea. No ABV info labeled anywhere. Figured I’d try some on a snowy afternoon, and after half of it I feel compelled to search online because damn. Turns out it’s almost 12%. I feel like if it’s over 7% a label is just courteous.
So I guess I’ll be enjoying my nap….
^^^ just watch, there's caffeine in it too
The fog coming down donner pass a couple nights ago was the thickest I’ve seen outside of a I5 pile up in the valley. Super annoying to drive thru
Made it almost 3 years without getting covid - only to test positive today, the day before leaving on a trip. Guess I get to find out just how ''non-cancellable" some of these bookings are...
Testing 'cos you felt sick, or some other reason?
So best case scenario, is you'd have been miserable for a week on vacay with a head cold?
Assume you have had a few vaxes by now...?

Recreational shooters annoy me. What a fucking mess they leave behind. If it's not spent shells and broken glass everywhere it's all the appliances and trash they haul out to shoot at and then leave behind. But.....Freedumb!!

Had some congestion yesterday morning and wanted to test just in case, had intended on going to a holiday party today prior to leaving. That happens to me once in a while and clears up by the next day - generally not going to meet up with folks if I don't feel well though.
Vaccinated + booster. I'm better off being sick at home, no argument with that.
Yeah, there was a bit of brass. Being smaller and heavier I'm sure plenty is buried in the sand though. But yeah mostly it was shells, ammo boxes, broken glass everywhere (not just where bottles would sit as targets), remains of wood targets and shot up TVs and other appliances. Plus piles of random trash and building materials that people drive up the road and dump.
Oh and don't forget the F Biden and other assorted graffiti :fuckyou:

I was around coworker all day Monday and Tuesday morning until he went home to deal with sick wife. Sure enough they both had the vid. I've tested negative so far but not feeling hot this morning, tomorrow is the magical 5 day mark. Canceled my Xmas plans to avoid risking several elderly relatives.
Gonna make myself a cheesecake and smoked ham burnt ends later.
