I kinda get it. I had an old moto that needed to warm up or it wouldn't run if it was <60*, and one of my neighbors came out pissed about it. I apologized, but said it was necessary, and he goes, "so it's all about you, then?" lol.

Some people have nothing else in their life and need something to be pissed about. This describes at least two of my neighbors; no discernable hobbies or activities. Both are retired, and both are constantly in other people's business.
Also annoying, is a pile of meetings next week, ahead of Christmas. WTF, you animals?! It's the holiday season. Who schedules legitimate work meetings the week of Christmas?
The idling vehicle thing is certainly annoying me right now. I mean, I live in a cooler climate, so a 15min warmup in the morning when the temps are below -10C is fine by me. And I lived and worked farther north in conditions where the diesel burners ran all night or they wouldn’t run at all. So I get it somewhat.
But we have a bunch of pipeliners renting in the neighbourhood and even in the summer they leave their vehicles running all day, both at the worksite or even when at the rental house. Their fuel is all covered by their contract, and it seems their culture dictates that if they are on the clock, the work truck must be running. Stinks up the whole neighbourhood. Call them on it and the polite ones just shrug their shoulders and say it’s covered. Almost have come to blows with some of the less cordial jerks. Can’t wait for that fed govt subsidized vote buying, well behind schedule, vastly ballooned budget dumfuckery boondoggle is finished and they get lost.
I know this is evergreen, but fucking Comcast man.
They are raising my bill next year, so I go look at different plans, they have a new customer plan that's $55/month, and for me, someone who's been with them for ten years, it's $100/month. I spent two hours on chat and the phone talking with four different people who "could get me that new deal" only to have every single one of them offer me the same $100/month plan.
The solution is to go down to a Comcast store with our modem, cancel, have my wife sign up for a new account, and then take a new modem to our house and plug it in. Fucking bonkers that they stay in business like this.
Fuck, I feel you.
I've started running up against and over my monthly allotted data with Comcast. And since I work from home, I have no choice to upgrade to their unlimited plan. But loathe the call I must make this afternoon. Fucking cunts, the lot of them.
How much did they jack up your bill?
I switched off between Comcast and Centurylink every year or so for years until I got lazy. The thing that really drove me batshit insane was that if I was a Comcast subscriber and asked them to extend their new subscriber pricing to me, they wouldn't do it. But if I switched to CenturyLink on their new subscriber price, someone from Comcast retentions would call in a month or two and offer me a sweetheart deal to switch back.
"Yeah, well, I'm in the 12-month contract with Centurylink that I told you I was going to sign when you wouldn't match your new subscriber price, so...?"
I may have posted about our neighbors across the street who do something similar. They have so many cars I can't even keep track but it's more than the number of people living in the house, and that fluctuates between 5 and 8. The dad (who looks exactly like Beetlejuice) bought a limo a couple years ago just because it was a good deal. Kept it around for a year, used it to take his daughter to prom (while wearing a top hat, a tshirt with a tuxedo print on it, and jorts, I fucking kid you not). Poor kid still looks traumatized from that one. Recently their oldest kid (30) moved into a trailer parked in their driveway, bringing 2 more cars into the picture. Funny thing is, they have a 2 car garage which is used exclusively to hoard shit and they will not park in the driveway which has room for 6 cars. Instead they park on both sides of the street, turning it into a one-way. There are 1 or 2 cars parked on the lawn most days, and they regularly bust their sprinklers in the process. Takes them days to fix those so some sections of the yard are boggy. They also routinely drive over the edging we have around the yard and occasionally take out a plant or sprinkler head, a strong effort considering everything sensitive is at least 2' away from the pavement.
Another one of our neighbors is acting up lately. Last year we found out that he was renting his place out and secretly living in the shed. Ms Boissal spotted him sneaking out one morning at 5:30AM and thought he had broken into the place so she talked to the tenants, they had no idea he was there. They promptly moved out, the house sat empty for a year, then a random car starting parking in front of our place every day. We didn't really pay attention then one day I smelled cigarette smoke coming from the backyard and spotted the old guy sneaking into the shed. Looks like he moved back in there but still acting all sneaky and parking his car in front of our house so it doesn't look like anyone lives in his. I was raking leaves earlier this fall and the car was in the way so I made a couple big piles in the front and rear of it. Next morning one of the piles had been driven over and there was a fucking traffic cone where the car was, not a little guy, one of those giant 4' tall ones you see in constructions zones. For the next few days the cone appeared whenever the car wasn't there, dude was reserving a spot if front of our house and basically telling me the leaves were annoying him. I took the cone for a drive one day and dumped it with a bunch of its brethren then went back and aggressively weedwacked around the car. Guess he didn't like that much cause he's now parked down the street in front of another house...
Re Comcast, it sounds like y'all are calling them up? Phone customer service sucks, but I have found that if I go into the Comcast store (if you have one near you) I generally get actual honest to goodness decent service, and get the "new subscriber" deal without canceling or jumping through hoops.
My mother was paying way too much for slow as shit Comcast service plus TV. The local telco finally brought fiber to our portion of the street, so I switched her over and then called to cancel (impersonating my father who, at the time, was relatively late in the dementia curve) because they wouldn't let her cancel.
So they offer the same TV package, 10 times the download speed and twice the upload, for half the price. Well, guys, too bad you didn't offer that deal anytime in the past five years she's been paying the ridiculous price, because the fiber guys finished that install yesterday.
Then, they tell me that I might as well make the cancellation date at the end of the month because they don't prorate when you cancel. Thinking WTF and how pissed I am at them by now, I tell them to go ahead and make it effective immediately. Then they say that because we're in Maine, they will actually prorate and provide a refund for the remaining portion of the month.

So, the company told me that if I order them from a retailer I can cancel my order with them and get refunded (they charged me back in October). So I'm finally fed up with this and start searching retailers. I find one that has in big letters on their site "In Stock" and they're selling for $20 less than most of the other places, so I order it, get a confirmation email, and am about to cancel the order with the manufacturer. But decide to send the retailer an email just to make sure. The response? "We had them in stock until a few days ago, and have more on the way, but it will be tight, because most or all of those are spoken for". WTF? It shouldn't be this hard to buy a goddam binding at full retail price.

Hell. Eternity. Satan. Pineapple. Dry. And Comcast would be getting away easy if that was their fate. The bright spot is that Century Link deserves a worse fate. Oh, and when trying to get a better deal from Comcast, going in person tends to have better results. However that means that I have to drive 40 minutes.
Unless your vehicle is carbureted or older diesel, it requires no warming up

On the subject of the loud exhausts, I always thought it was those stupid fart cans but the fast and furious crowd just removes the flex pipe. So basically no muffler.
