I’ve got a Cuisinart kettle that’s been used at least once per day for about 5 years w/o missing a beat.

When I used to have to travel for work all the time, I got this small Belkin surge protector/ power strip/ USB port and brought it with. Even if there's only one outlet and it's already in use, you can connect.

This is a constant frustration for me. I want something that is safe. Plastic is out. Chinesium materials are suspect. I have been getting glass electric kettles but they all have stainless steel bottoms which start to rust within a month at my house. Once the metal is compromised like that I assume I'm ingesting whatever heavy metal the Chinese put in it? I have a good glass kettle that is lead free, but the damn thing came with a plastic lid. and if I don't use the whistling lid I don't know when it is boiling. How do I safely boil water for my tea every morning? Is there a whistling kettle lid made out of lead free glass?
Dummy, just watch the kettle to see when it boils :fmicon:
"Bopal, why?"

How about glass? This is the top thing on amazon.

I have an Oventi glass kettle, cheap on Amazon, works fine. The first one broke after maybe 5 years of heavy use, kettle number 2 is going strong.
How about a Revereware stove top kettle, mines like 40 years old.

Why is stainless rusting at my house? And what heavy metals are therefore coming out of the Chinesium?
Is it because you’re boiling your piss before consumption?

That stuff comes out sterile, no need to boil it!
