As much as the TSA sucks, I firmly believe that AI screening run by palantir or xAI would be much worse.

Still gotta take those shoes off. Hoof and mouth disease running rampant.
That shoe bomber really got the last laugh didn't he?
The underwear bomber is mad jealous
Even with the TSA in place there was a woman who stowed away on a flight to Paris. I went through a TSA checkpoint in Savannah last week with a folding knife in my back pack. The knife has a six inch blade. I went through TSA at Sky Harbor with the same knife in my bag last year. I feel more secure with trained dogs running through the airport with their handlers. My co worker went through TSA at Kennedy with a jug of lighter fluid in his pack but it was found later by a dog. the dog handlers understood he accidentally had it with him and there was no problem but +1 for dogs. -1 for the Thousands Standing Around.
Security x-ray screening is ripe to be outsourced to a Mechanical Turk-like platform, where a few dozen people offshore see the realtime feed and if someone identifies contraband, they get paid $25 bucks for flagging it. Or something like that. Come to think of it, this is actually a pretty good use case for AI, they must be rolling that out by now
Once again, shit that annoys me at hospitals which I have worked in for 30 years.
Why do hospitals placate to patients who are rude to staff members and physicians. Why is it that hospitals want to kiss these patients' asses and reinforce their negative behaviors? I know it's all about money and image for the big hospitals, blah, blah, blah, but give me a fucking break, why do patients get to treat healthcare workers like shit?
Likely afraid of litigation.
"As much as the TSA sucks, I firmly believe that AI screening run by palantir or xAI would be much worse".
I guess you're right, as I saw a headline yesterday the Dumps admin is working on getting rid of the TSA and if they touch stuff, it turns to shit.
People.
Specifically, and this topic has been covered before but here we are, people who can't park properly in a space. So I have to park the best i can. Then they all leave and im the asshole who can't park properly.
My dog will sometimes seek an audience when taking a crap on our walks.
Car pulling up to curb to park? Time to drop a deuce!
Busy intersection? Yo, check me out!
Ok - amusing too.
We found an amazing dog sitter who works at a local shelter and likes our dog. She was dog sitting over Memorial Day weekend and the guest room now has an indelible smell of patchouli, sandalwood, or some kind of crazy soap, can't quite decide. It's still strong after washing all the linens and running an air filter since we got back on Monday. She is in all other respects the perfect dog sitter, I have no idea what to do
Build her a dog-sitter house in the back yard.
I'd suggest smoking some weed in said room, that'll even it out.
Reminds me of this Seinfeld episode I saw recently.

There are far too many alcohol and prescription drug ads on TV
Evidently I still do
Being ghosted professionally. It is wild to me how some people just ignore the professional courtesy of letting you know that you didnt get the job/bid/project died, etc. Had an architect bring my group in as a sub for a job, had us revise the contract multiple times, did some upfront work and attended big team meetings upon his emailed NTP, and then he and his company straight ghosted me. No returned emails or calls, etc...but im still getting project update emails from the client so i know the project is moving forward. Just totally unprofessional. Its a small industry and people will hear about this....
Cheatgrass and houndstongue.
My daughter lives on these acai bowls...they're $15-$20 a piece when we get them at these acai bowl shops
Fuck me in the goat ass
Any food purchased at a shop/restaurant is pricey these days. I have given up on prices when going out and try and save elsewhere instead.
Breakfast in Ogunquit, Maine for five people this morning was $132 with tip.
Id be hard pressed to find any diner near me where I could still get a plate of breakfast and a coffee for less than 20. Annoying but standard
Get the oatmeal
Due to the oat growers strike, the cost of oatmeal is about to quadruple.
Oatmeal is gross.
New tax person this year. Thought we were setup for a direct withdrawal but that wasn’t the case apparently, so missed the deadline. Annoying.
Luckily we did not owe that much, so the penalty+interest is only about $35.
Question for any tax gurus on here, since I've never had to pay a penalty... Trying to pay this online at the below link. There are 3 fields to fill in, Reason for Payment, Apply Payment To, and Tax Period for Payment. For the first field guessing it should be "civil penalty." Second field, "Other Amount Due" because I'm not making an advance payment or paying toward an installment agreement. Getting stumped on the 3rd field because it asks for a year and month...

These mid 60s rainy days are annoying. We haven't had a dry Saturday since March :(
People who stand on escalators in groups and block those who want to walk the escalator.
And a special place in hell for the people who do that AND turnaround and see that you’re standing behind them and still don’t move!
At least during rush hour, the law of “keep right” is mostly obeyed and enforced by my fellow NYers.
Edit: enforcement is usually just a vocal cue.
