VT is always way behind the times, so there are plenty of folks wearing tights or tight jeans still. And those new sack like pants aren't very practical. Folks tend to wear more practical clothing here. I've seen some mom jeans sneak in, but that's as far as it has gone. Down in Burlington there might be a different scene, but I don't go there much.
I read a story in the New York Times recently (okay, the photo of a girl in tight workout clothing drew me in) discussing the dichotomy between Millennials and Gen Zers regarding what is appropriate workout attire. Apparently the Millennials prefer tight-fitting clothes whereas the Zoomers like loose clothes. Go Millennials, I say!
I hate to see the girls wearing tights everywhere era come to an end. It truly has been a magical time in human evolution. I hope to live long enough to see its resurgence in a few decades.

Normally, my weird little town is way behind the times, but sadly we were way out front on the stupid stove pipe pants.
Got a new dog from the shelter about ten days ago. Notice a few blood spots on her bed and assume she scraped a paw. Notice more blood and check her paws: nothing. Finally realized she's bleeding from her lady parts and call the shelter vet for an appointment. Vet calls back and says "uh, she's probably not actually spayed and is in heat."
Motherfucker. Apparently she was an owner surrender and when the owner claimed she was spayed no one checked
Our shelters have clinics that generally spay at low or no cost. Worth asking. But that owner doubly sucks. Worse if you get a batch of puppies
Credit card processing "convenience" fees. That shit pisses me right the fuck off.
Haha shit, it hadn't crossed my mind she could be knocked up. I'm pretty sure we're safe--she hasn't been around other dogs-- but I'll ask the vet to check. The convenience fees are from a professional licensure organization for my medical imaging licensure. Why exactly is a convenience fee necessary for a professional organization? Fuck it, I'm just sending them a check so I don't have to pay the extra $5 for my convenience and make it a pain in the ass for them. Too bad.
Convenience fees should be BANNED. why don't they just call it a "charge for nothing other than charging you more money". I can see a convenience fee of some sort when you would call TicketTron and order over the phone for concert tickets. Somebody answered the phone and completed the transaction and they need to be paid. Convenience fees are like account maintenance fees. If everything is automated and computerized why are you charging me $1.50 a month maintenance fee on my EZ-Pass account? To change the oil? WTF?

Yeah I do pretty good with my costco card. They now pay 5% on gas purchases at Costco, 4% elsewhere on gas (my biggest expense on CC) and 1% on most other purchases. But I'd much rather trade no perks for no fees.Quote:

I recently paid my CPA dues. CC was the only option but impressively there was no fee.
Also paid my vehicle registration with CA DMV. They used to have an option to pay by e-check with no fee. Now the only option is CC, with a 2% fee. Assholes.
With the world melting down people are quickly becoming even more difficult to work with. Whining is a new critical skill. I do not have much patience to begin with, it's just a matter of time until I tell off a customer.
If you're talking about the fee a merchant charges to take credit cards I have no problem with it. I see it when paying things like property taxes--so I do echecks instead. No reason the vendor should have to pay for my air miles and other rewards. If you're talking about the fee charged to merchants, yeah, way too high, but a lot of that does go to paying out rewards.
The shop in Alta that wouldn’t do a base weld without me paying for a full tune for the core shot I picked up on the first day of my trip.
MFers, I’m just gonna hit more rocks…and I just tuned up the edges how I like them and waxed the day before the trip. If I did a base grind every time I hit a rock I’d have no ski left.
And then they did a shit job anyways. Didn’t put enough material in the hole so it wasn’t flush after the grind and looks like ass compared to my DIY base welds.
I know some shops have that policy but I talked to multiple people who work at shops down valley that would have done it (and not sucked).
It has been cold and grey for as long as i can remember. A little while ago the sun came out and I thought Id take the dogs for their walk. We got about a half-mile from the house, the sun went away, the temp dropped (it was only 45 to start with), the wind kicked up and it began hailing like crazy. It was raining ice on my head and down my neck. wtf. Annoying.

I got served today. And I shit you not the guys knocks on my door all smiley as he hands me the papers then actually does a double point and says "you got served" as he trots off. Funny thing, it's my name and address but beyond that it has nothing to do with me. I call the law firm on the papers and tell them they got the wrong guy. They tell me not to worry about it. I'm not fucking worried about it but put something in writing asshole. Says I need to go to court in two weeks and I want a paper trail that clears me. For you lawyer guys how the fuck does this even happen. The case is in Salt Lake, I live in Durango, I don't know anybody involved. It's like my name was drawn out of a hat or something.
