Yeah blue spots right up front.

A Monday morning inbox filled with reminders and tasks that I didn't get to last week. At least it's a 5 day work week right? Ugh
"Use your google account to sign in to whatever.com"
Those popups annoy me.
2023 is annoying me so far.
Work parking lot is just a lot. It kind of annoys me that people always park in the same spot. I just pull in at park waverer, annoying the employees habitual habits.
The notion that tv stations can predict the weather beyond three days both amuses and annoys me.
I drive my mom to the bank. She insists I park in the handicapped spot, even though I'm the only one going in. She has the card and she's damn well gonna use it.
The guy next door used his mother's for years after she died. Now he's old enough to need it.
God I sometimes wish I could punch app developers in the face. Our office just had a software update to Outlook (maybe other stuff too). I open Outlook and my quick links to mail and calendars and tasks, that used to be at the bottom left of the screen, are now in a vertical bar along the left side. Why? I suppose it's not a big deal but I have a lot of muscle memory and don't know why that had to change. Right clicking to move toolbars or whatnot doesn't yield any results. Going into "Options" doesn't point to any obvious choices. Eventually, I find -- in the "Advanced" option tab -- a thing called "Outlook panes". The choices there still don't seem to offer any solutions, except there's a checkbox for "Show Apps in Outlook", with a little "info" icon next to it. Hovering over that says something like "turn off this setting to snooze this feature and return to the classic Outlook navigation bar". Still isn't clear from that, but yes, turning off the feature, closing and reopening Outlook, returns me to the usual screen setup.
Just typing that makes me want to punch the app developer a second time.
"Outlook pains"
lol
Pane pains?
I've had to revert back to the 'classic' outlook at least 4 times the past year. And that annoying thing they did with each sender's initial in a brightly colored circle- wtf, it's doubly-annoying in dark mode. Looks like a children's game or some millennial app crap.
And, I'm not sure what mailing list I got on, but I keep getting solicitations for Medicare Supplement in the mail, even from my insurance company. Like giant flyers and shit. Doesn't my insurance company know how old (young) I am? Late 40's but I'm still in my 40's. Ugh.
Gone that route. When you finally crack the badge codes and work your way through the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, you get to a very average little workspace and there's a little guy from Regina Saskatchewan you can't punch in the nose because he's spectrum disordered.
Microsoft.
Sure, but that's true of pretty much all meteorologists; they're all using data from the NWS because they don't have their own satellites and monitoring stations and they don't have the models. So they run the suite of models and come up with their own forecasts. I mean, on FB there are two local weather guys here, Seth Linden and Kody Wilson. Both frequently post NWS images or info about model runs. But both are taking those and making their own forecasts, and it would be a mistake to say they are simply regurgitating and not predicting.
Just wait until you miss a bunch of meetings because the reminder popup window no longer pops up and stays up, because they moved the fuckin' reminder popups to the "Notifications" place in the taskbar, and those hide themselves automatically after awhile.
I still haven't figured out how to get it to pop up a reminder that STAYS up until I snooze it. Goddammit.
Well, growing up I did sort of think of Jean Enersen as my tv mom.
It's fairly amusing that a met degree seems to be the new requirement to be a tv weather person, because the presenter's actual skills are reading the teleprompter while working the green screen. Nobody wants to see Cliff Mass do that.
This is one area where Mexico is way ahead of us. Find a good looking woman, give her a revealing wardrobe, and voila, a weather person.
Who TF watches local weather anymore?
Sacramento had a TV weather person in the '70's who was a Playmate of the Month. People watched. She's still doing the weather, in her 70's. Not as many people watch. And apparently she has a degree in meteorology.
Really? I get both. The taskbar popup which a gate, and a separate window that has the upcoming meetings along with past ones that I haven't dismissed yet. Except that it's a pop under from what I can tell. It does let me snooze. The taskbar reminder is what makes me go look at the pop-under window. I didn't configure any of this knowingly, it just happened. I hate Microsoft.
Danno doesn't really care who he punches, as long as someone feels some pain for this
Adobe just did a major overhaul to Acrobat too!!! Of course at the WORST possible time to completely relearn the software. Boss was like "Hey, could you shoot me a revised file with XYZ changes." I was like "No prob! I'll should be able to get that to you in a few minutes. BRB." Open up Acrobat and w.... t.... f.... Interface is TOTALLY different. And of course in their pursuit of a flashier, "simpler," interface it must be a resource hog too because now it's taking way longer to open up docs and work with them. My computer's old, but the last version at least opened up docs with immediacy. Now it's taking forever. F U, Adobe!!! Completely non-sensical change and for what? Making things more functional for the lowest common denominator, ie phones/tablets?
Thank you for letting us know where to direct our ire. It's SOME a-hole likely trying to justify their job. Especially when the software becomes WORSE in just about every conceivable way. :cussing:
