Shit that annoys you

Whew, daughter, 18, great kid, straight A student, over at a friends house, parents start accusing her and pal of being stoned a bunch of times in the course of an hour.

Daughter requests I call them, so I do and they deny making any such accusations except claiming that my daughter was encouraging their daughter to vape tobacco.

I ask for proof and he texts me pictures of a both sides of piece of paper on which his daughter, who shows up bruised and hates to be at her house, evidently has written "vape" over some other graffitti.

I text back, telling them that's not proof of anything, not worth the paper it's written on.

So now, evidently, my daughter is a lying druggie with ignorant and uncaring parents. Their kid is flunking out.

Geez some people are really weird.

Unless said paper was rolled into a joint I'd say they're just a bit off base.

The only reasons for a French door is lack of room to open a single door or a fridge in the middle of a wall where you might be accessing it from both sides.. We have a single door with a bottom freezer drawer that we're happy with.

AFAIK the Karen problem is significantly less prevalent in France and there isn't a name for the breed. Yet.
That's not to say that French people are any less of a bunch of entitled twats but they don't seem to be as in your face about it as in the US.
I was talking to my sis a couple month ago and her 1.5 year old was being a brat, screaming that she needed more butter on her toast after carefully licking it off. I jokingly told her to stop raising such a Karen. That required a long explanation and at the end she said that people like that are commonly referred to connasses mal baisees (poorly-fucked bitches).

Yesterday was service call #4, and the issue is still not resolved.

A few weeks ago I got a topper put on my truck after waiting ~5mo for it to arrive. I was stoked until it locked up with my skis in it as soon as I got up to the mountain. Fished them through the passthrough and out through the cab. Mildly annoying for it to break after the long wait but ultimately got fixed.

Last week I dropped my truck off at the dealer to have a recall done on the tailgate to prevent it from randomly releasing (which had never happened)...now the tailgate won't open at all and they're closed until Monday. FFS!

Did you check the tailgate’s Bluetooth connection? Srsly though, back when lazy Texans hadn’t yet demanded remote activated tailgates, this shit was not a problem.

The tailgate release isn't an option in the app. ;)

I agree though, I'd prefer a handle because remote activated tailgate release makes no sense.

Maybe a repeat haven’t looked up thread but this shit is everywhere around here pissing me off mightily.

Up in Vermont at the ski club lodge and my car won't start. I just had the starter replaced a few weeks ago and the starter is the problem. Of course AAA was going to come at 9:30 and now called back to say noon. The place they're towing it to is the only place open that is somewhat close and they close at 1:00. Hopefully I'll have my car back Monday to get home.

Just a suggestion, but if you had it replaced 2 weeks ago and it's not working it probably wasn't the starter in the first place.

Yup! Our matching Samsung dishwasher shit the bed only being a couple years old too. Like a $1200 unit too (previous homeowner bought at least). Replaced a ton of components before calling it quits since it boiled down to the mobo which was nigh on impossible to find and list price was crazy expensive. Dishwasher sucked to begin with even when it worked. Didn't clean remotely as well as cheap-o base model ones I had before. Posted it online for free and picked up by a guy with the same dishwasher so he wanted it for spare parts. Hehe

On the plus side, I scored big time with my next one. Found a fancy GE Cafe floor model in one of those demo kitchens at Lowe's. Originally $1500. Old discontinued model they just wanted gone, so I got it for like $200. Nice unit too. Works awesome. F U Samsung!

Thanks. I picked the car up after the starter was replaced and the guy said it will make a funny noise which will go away when it gets broken in. That was ~ 2 weeks ago and it was still making the noise, but always started. Car turns over and makes a whirring noise. Somebody here that is pretty mechanical said definitely a starter. It is probably defective.

If it was a remanufactured starter then very high likelihood it's bad - they don't really break in, they just work until they break. Hope you get it sorted, that's real frustrating.

Hey, this is what our GE fridge did to us two years ago:

Valve/switch for ice maker developed a crack, and by the time we noticed the floor boards warping, it was too late, and couldn’t find matching flooring, so NEW FLOOR, and Travelers doubled my premium.

Wife noticed a couple or warped boards a couple of weeks ago, so went straight to shutting off water supply to ice maker. Those boards are almost back to normal now, and figure 13 years was a pretty good run, plus it’s going into the garage as a spare.

The reviews on pretty much every fridge in the 1-2k range are close to 50/50 good/bad, but also, most people submitting reviews are clueless IME, so rolled the dice on Samsung, and prolly to late to turn back at this point.

Supposed to take delivery Tuesday, but also it’s supposed to snow, so a couple of cancellations could be my escape clause (to buy another garbage product everyone hates).

Having survived 7 decades on this earth without an ice maker I figure I can make it for whatever time I have left without one. And I intend to.

Waiting for the bidet toilet seat we just installed to leak while we're out of town. Hopefully the leak will go into the toilet bowl and not on the floor.

Yeah, I'm with OG. Especially when icemaker has already fucked you over. Fool me once, shame on you, etc.
