I've always said that if I could go back in time and see one show again, it would be 11/17/97. Gawd, that show was fuckin' good.
So the whole first Phish show thing got me thinking about the first time I saw them and I didn't realize it was this long ago:
04-12-90 The Inferno, Steamboat Springs, CO
1: Golgi Aparatus, Ya Mar, Walk Away, Uncle Pen, Possum, You Enjoy Myself, Take the A-Train, Cavern, Jesus Just Left Chicago, The Divided Sky, Good Times Bad Times
2: David Bowie, My Sweet One, Oh Kee Pa Ceremony > Suzy Greenberg, Tweezer, Lizards, Runaway Jim, Fish Song*, Mike's Song
E: Carolina
*Song title unknown.
04-13-90 The Inferno, Steamboat Springs, CO
1: Funky Bitch, Dinner and a Movie, Bouncing, Fluffhead, Esther, La Grange, Oh Kee Pa Ceremony-> AC/DC Bag, Reba, Fire
2: Run Like an Antelope, Foam, You Enjoy Myself, Alumni Blues, The Ballad of Curtis Loew > Sloth, Harry Hood, Caravan, Possum, Highway to Hell
04-14-90 The Inferno, Steamboat Springs, CO
1: Split Open and Melt, Uncle Pen, Cavern, The Divided Sky, Colonel Forbin's Ascent > Famous Mockingbird, Rift, Mike's Song
2: I Didn't Know, Oh Kee Pa Ceremony > Suzy Greenberg, Tweezer, Bathtub Gin, Bold As Love, Wilson, Ride Captain Ride, Golgi Apparatus, Fee, David Bowie
That May I saw them at a spring festival party at a college outside of Philly (Haverford College maybe?) but oddly I don't see that show listed on Phish.net. I was visiting a friend and had no idea they were playing at the school, but I saw John Fishman walking around the student union before the show and I talked with him and Trey for a bit about their tour of CO. They remembered the Steamboat shows because the Inferno was so packed, but I don't think they realized it was the last weekend of the ski season and people were just going off the deep end.
Also, Widespread Panic played the Inferno for two nights in March of 1990, so it was a good time for live music in Steamboat Springs.
Edit: and the WSP shows were solid-
03/12/90 The Inferno, Steamboat Springs, CO
0: Stop-Go, Space Wrangler, Rock, Pigeons, Machine, Barstools and Dreamers, Love Tractor, Travelin' Light, Proving Ground, Coconut, C. Brown, Porch Song

0: L.a. > Conrad, Holden Oversoul, Knocking 'Round The Zoo, Stop-Go > B of D, Sleepy Monkey, Love Tractor, Walkin' (For Your Love) > I'm Not Alone > Chilly Water

I'd go see them if they came here, but I doubt they'll make it that far. I listen to them occasionally, but lost the obsession long ago.

I went to Mizzou for a year and yes, Jesse is not big at all, and right on the quad. Would have been sweet seeing them there.

Stapes, that Gin is fucking awesome.
Yessirrrz. I was stoked when they threw the sbd of it on the end of the LivePhish release of 7/15/98. Thanks guys!
I guess I could say it partially altered the course of my life, as I would go on to blow off any steady summer jobs all through h.s. and college in order to follow these 4 geeks across the country and spend lotsa money doing it. Don't regret any of it though, that's for sure.:D
My first shows were Great Woods 7/8/94 and 7/9/94.
First show was a Gamehendge...anyone want touch me?..
I was 13 and had my mind completely blown. Ate fungus for the first time too.
I ended up showering in a bathroom sink in North Providence, RI to wash all of the mud off of me before I got home. I had to pay a quarter to get into the bathroom. It was an epic run.
Will I in be in Hampton? yes.
First show was at the Flynn Theater in Burlington in '92, my freshman year at UVM. Been to a few since then. Skiing takes precedence in March, but I will try and see as many of the summer shows as I can get to.

Anyone get tickets?
Got three denials so far (the wife and I each have our own credit card + ATM card).
Have yet to hear about the last one. fingers crossed...
Denied here... :(
Haven't heard from my brother in Richmond, VA yet.
gf and I both denied:frown:
They're going to be rusty and weak shows anyway;)
I got denied on my request (two tix for each night). It's probably just as well, as I shouldn't be shelling out hundreds of dollars for the wife and I to go to Hampton, like I did for Miami (twice), Vegas (5 times), Coventry, IT, and many places in between.;)
C'mon simulcast!
Denied.
Oh well. Guess I can now plan that Gulmarg and/or Silverton and/or Whistler and/or Chamonix trip for early March.
Denied here.
That's what I'm telling myself. I will have just finished moving across the country the month before, and may very well be unemployed - so dropping all that dough may not be the smartest thing to do. Plus, I figure if they come out West (hopefully!!!) in the summer months I can catch a few shows then. Still kinda bummed.
And yea, a simulcast would be fun:D
tried but was denied for rontele's benefit
Does anyone know anybody that got tix???
Everyone I know of got shut down.
I haven't heard of anyone who got 'em, sadly. I'm sure that there were just a buttload of people in the lottery.
I got 1 email so far that shut me down. Since i had to petition individually for all three shows I don't know if that means "NEIN" on all of them or just one.
My thoughts exactly. With the amount of people that will be trying on TM, getting tix for all 3 nights seems nearly impossible. And I don't really want to go to VA for just 1 night.
Here's to some good West Coast dates in summer!!!
Like the fucking Gorge, PLZ!!!!!!
Wow, the entire 3 nights sold out in under three minutes this morning on ticketbastard.
Fucking Tickemaster. You know, it's interesting that TicketsNow, a TM company, has tickets availble starting around $400. Bullshit monopoly. Fuck all of them!:mad::mad::mad::mad:
That's because they've realized that most of their fans have jobs now. Gotta pay to play.
I refuse to even entertain the thought. See my ticketmaster thread for more.
I didn't even remember to try for tickets this AM. Its probably for the best though. I should actually have money by spring so I will pay to play if I really have to. Or just wait for the Spectrum shows.
Got all 3 nights through the lottery!
its only one set of shows???
rumor has it they'll be @ Bonnaroo.
