gotta be due for a pyite
tix arrived for the gorge... heavy repeats but liking the general trend of setlists lately!
I watched some of LazyLightning55's youtube vids from the summer tour. I'm bummed at how shot Trey's voice is.
I started seeing them live in the fall of '87 at bars, parties, and in college halls. Many shows at Nectars and The Front were less than 100 people and I saw them in Albany with about 30 folks in '89. I haven't been to a show since Summer '98 at the Gorge in George, WA (tortilla war and the best Divided Sky evah), so it was disappointing to see how the harmonies were so off. The tunes still were nice and funky, though.
^^^^ a few years of smoking rock and having an oxy drip will wreak havoc on a voice...
Show canceled just after set break
pretty great new rs trey article.

Christ almighty the phish from vermont are setting the gorge on fire. Shouldn't have broken my own rule of never missing a gorge show.
edit: Haven't seen for legit ->'s in a row in a long time. Best set of tour, no doubt.
Great show last night.
Gorge was awesome!
Ten years since one of the best I ever saw.

In case you missed it:
Gorge Night 1
Gorge Night 2
I've done premier the last few times, but am leaning toward WH and a VIP parking pass....just got to have someone reasonable make the drive post show.
Although sometimes it's nice to be near the circus and the late night sideshow, but I'm getting older now so it's starting to lose a bit of the appeal when fireworks are being shot off at 3 in the morn.
People in the terraces say that's the way to go, quieter and a shorter walk to the venue.
What is up with the bottle necks on the walk back?? Were they not able to permit anything larger than that path through the wetland area?
Stellar shows...they need to make the Gorge an annual thing..
We bought VIP parking in Maine, had to drive past the venue and cheaper parking to wait in traffic and get to a full VIP lot where we waited in the car for 10 minutes until some supervisor approved some remote lot. Sweet.
36 minute Tweezer?? You guys listen to this shit yet? They are back it seeems!!
In case anybody hasn't heard it yet:

Straight FIRE! Little bit of everything in there - evil oxy jam, ambient space, bliss jam, crowd interaction. Ridiculous. It even makes up for dropping a second set Architect Bouncin combo
Just started listening now..totally forgot to pay attention to last nights show. I've been following the boys for over 20 years and didn't know they script out big jams like that. Makes sense I guess.
edit: thinking now these are audience notes since the "whoo's" were spontaneous.
Not the best quality, but a nice little of vid of cactus throwing down with Phil on Thursday night in SF for Jerry's birthday
