Always nice seeing photos of the Sierra, but looks like big difference from last year...still lots of time.

4 to 7 at red cone. good bonding and no wind affect.
the Tonopah low delivered another 3-5 inches Friday night.
Back out at red cone, we were following a shit show train of skiers with all kinds of gear camera and film gear on their backs. Someone was hauling an extra pair of skis. As it turns out it was the Atomic crew https://www.instagram.com/atomicski/ with............wait for it....................Todd Jones and his ripper son, Kai https://www.instagram.com/kaijonesski/.
Great to meet you Todd. What an awesome day out there.
Yeah it was noisy on Red Cone that day for sure.
Much quieter up here...

We just moved up from a rotting palomino pop-up to this '13 tundra and Four Wheel.

Anyone driven up/down 395 lately? Hows Bridgeport area looking?
fixed photo links. just a long day trip to find some soft snow. It took us about 4.5 hours to get to the pass.
How was the stability?

Was up at Mammoth Crest this weekend. Conditions were fantastic. Most of the crowd opted to ski Redcone Bowl in spite of it being kinda windfucked.
We opted for the terrain on the other side

How is it in the Lake Mary basin these days?
Any chance there's coverage to the bottom of V Bowl?
Conditions on Ellery Bowl as of yesterday....super bleak.

Damn. That’s worse than I would have expected...
^^^x2. Thanks for the photo, I had been thinking about biking up the highway with skis March 10th weekend, but I guess I should start looking at airplane tickets to someplace with snow or plan a mtb trip.
Wow, just catching up on this thread. Great stuff. Powerwhore7- that last pic is awesome. grant lake?
CS - that pic of Ellery is insane. I thought snowline in the East side was 9000--10000ft or so. I haven't been down there this year, but somehow that's what I had heard. But from your pics, it looks much higher - the top of Ellery is like 11 and change right? I thought the lake is almost 10,000. Is that just localized wind scowering or is the snowline that high all around there? what's was the snowline around other areas on the east side (before this weeks new storms)?
And specifically, has anyone been down farther south (big pine, etc?) recently?
Went 3/4 up the approach to Red Cone on Saturday before bailing due to strong wind, blowing snow, and running out of daylight. Later heard the bowl slid earlier that day, but don't have any confirmation.
Skied TJ bowl from just below the crest yesterday. Nice shin to knee deep pow all the way down to the lake. It will be interesting to see how this weeks storm affects stability.
Couple shots from yesterday 😁

Does anyone know what the skiable snow line is around Matterhorn or convict lake?

I just flew over yesterday (Friday eve), the western 20% of the upper lake looked frozen/snow-covered.
This was from 35,000’ so take that for what it is but I was very intently scoping it. Strangely, the hulk couloirs looked rocky which was confusing. Hopefully someone has been up there that has better beta.
