My uncle is fishing in Cascais in Portugal. This is the best fishing I've ever seen.

Got my monet order and app for the Smith ready to go. Any of you Montana maggots know when they quit irrigating up there?
Good luck! Irrigation is very dependent on the weather. Last year was a wet fall so they quit irrigating in mid September. The fall is a total crap shoot, but oh so worth it if you can pull it off.

Think I'll do 2/3 days in high season then throw in a late September Hail Mary Date. I'll give you a call if I score.
Put in for a Smith run. June. Odds = not so good but why not?
I really want to do it again - I think I could talk Mrs Teleee into June run
Can we form an alliance? I put in also, I think June or July. Also did the super permit thing.
I'm down. I put in for mid/late June. I might even be able to pull together some extra boats.
Last year we drew June 18 and flows were good enough for my hard boat. That was pretty damn comfortable. In 2017 I drew Jun 22 and there wasn't enough water for a raft. Crap shoot.

And personally, not sure I'd waste a day on September. I've floated it in late September and just drove up and self registered. The parking lot was empty and there wasn't another party on the entire river. That was 7 or 8 years ago so unless something has changed I think permits are pretty easy to snag, especially if you are a little flexible.
I'am going to pull the Hail Mary late September and go for June. Wish me luck
I went choccymilk route and did late April/May

Found some wild browns in the Connecticut woods today
1. No Tenkara or Euronymphing took place
2. No black nitrile gloves were worn
3. No waders or boots were worn*
*because I got baked and forgot them. I wet waded a New England stream in January--thanks, Al Gore.
