Stevens Pass and whistler on one pass? That’s a no brainer. Epic also gets you some skiing over in Japan land, an easy flight over the pond from WA. Alpental only has 2 lifts and crystal is overrun by amazon nerds.
My kid (Stevens Skier) and his pals (Alpy Skiers) have this argument all the time. They haven't figured out yet it is an argument you want the other guys to win so you have more pow turns for yourself any given deep day. Unfortunately, the argument is moot and all the resorts suffer from a popularity perspective.
BTW, it always rains at Alpy and it is always cloudy with inversion at Stevens so they both suck...go to Crystal.
I like skiing in the rain

Baker, bro.
I hear the drive to Sandpoint and Schweitzer is totally worth it. Lots of light pow; no lift lines.
Go Vinyl Nitrile for the gloves. A tiny bit of time in the convection oven for some ergonomic shaping. Hockey glove like feel for the ski pole grip. No soaked gloves, lead weight feel. Less strain on the brain for skiin' in the rain. Swap the 2 buck liners every few hours if they get damp from sweat.
