I was busy boycotting back country
then i had to boycott CBC for canning Don Cherry cuz he is a racist fuck
and now I have to boycott DPS
Sounds like a good chance to release a new Tabla Rasa
But where will my dentist get his lightweight chatter sticks?
If anyone is holding a single (or pair) 2007-09 L120 F3 190cm you should just send it my way.
do I/we have to boycott any company who fires anybody for anything, ferinstance the guy who got fired at the toilet factory, or the drunk cab driver ?
73% of people polled believe Don Cherry shouldn't lose his job but he obviously dissed immigrants and probably all non-white people in general yeah they really want to keep him around for his next case of verbal Diarrhea
We don't even know why Drake is out, we don't even know if something illegal occured or wtf and in any case it is the perogative of a business to can people
I get the impression tabla rasa, lotus 120, state-your-old-favorite ... DPS is not interested in making our old favorites
I was boycotting DPS before it was cool.
Dentists nationwide are mourning this loss
Boycotting DPS is cool?
I have so much catching up to do.
Black Crows is the flavor of the week, dontcha know?
Sent from my iPhone using TGR Forums
to the OP and anyone else considering not buying the skis you weren't buying any way
the fact DPS aren't making the skis you want anymore should be the clue why you aren'
t buying them anymore
maybe we need a " what ski is just like my Lotus 120/tabla rasa ? "
can I drink your bath water ?
I would be interested in seeing what is next for Stephan Drake . . . I predict a new ski company
So I should feel sorry for Drake and boycott DPS because he brought in investors that wanted a say in the company equal to their shares? I think he took money with out thinking through what that meant.
Look for the '20/'21 DPS lineup in your local Wal Mart sporting goods section.
Plastics.
Personally, I will look forward to Stephan designing new and innovative skis in to future. I became tired of DPS, even before Marshall left the company. The company has become something other than the Lotus 120, 138 and Wailer 105 that I loved to ski. While it always had problems with delams, top sheet issues and the stigma of Chinese construction, the designs and materials were rad. For the past 4-6 years.....meh!
Not sure I agree with all that. Aren't all DPS's made in USA? Or at least the Pures, hybrids are made in China I believe.
Anyway as others said in this thread, Investors really are making a deal with the devil sometimes. And with DPS certainly whatever you think about the ski the Wailer 112 was so successful, DPS has basically been making different versions of that ski for what 10 years? Seems they were a bit a victim of their own success there in that the other lines pushed to the backburner lotus cassiar, etc.
When it comes down to it though the lotus 120, 138 and especially spoon are a really niche product. Not a ski that is an everyday driver for many. After a bunch of them are out in the market I'm sure their sales dwindled every year. Makes a lot of sense they started doing them only for powderworks limited runs.
