Long shot: GSD in OR needs a new home

I know it’s a long shot, but I thought I’d ask all you dog lovers. My wife has a wheelchair-bound patient who can’t keep his 5-ish-year-old GSD named Thor. He’s located near Bend. My wife knows the dog well; he’s a sweetheart, very calm and sweet. The owner spent a lot of money on training, but simply can’t do it, so Thor would likely need a refresher, but he’s smart and eager, so it should be easy to get him tuned up. I can get more info for serious parties; pm me.

I'm sending this post to my inlaws who live in Bend and are currently dog-less after their last pooch passed of cancer at a ripe old age. They might be interested themselves or know someone who is.

More details: Thor was in a home with two little dogs; he totally mentored them like a daddy.

About how much does Thor weigh?

Around 80#; he’s tall and lean, very healthy.

Nice looking dog. I don’t know much about re-homing dogs but I bet it might be easier for him several hundred miles away where the familiar scents wouldn’t be so alluring to run back to his current home.
