We had gulley washers in town, both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s didn’t make it past the airport.

Pooooouring in Denver. So good to see some heavy rain.
Some decent rain in EagleCo this evening. Nothing great, though anything is, um, great.
Just got out of the Maroon Bells Wilderness...got some good rains, loud thunder and ridiculous views of course. Couldn’t believe how smoky Eagle and Summit Counties were on our drive through. Fucking miserable.
Smoke is awful
Here in Eagle, it just got smoky late this afternoon.... first time in weeks. The winds shifted, and I think it's that new fire out near Rifle.
Just waiting for monsoon season to actually start up. You know, the "earlier and wetter" one the forecasters are talking about.
The jinx is on.
Certainly a wind shift this afternoon that allowed smoke to full back into the valley. A few more drops this past week than the rest of the summer but I doubt it was even enough to measure upvalley. Dry, dry, dry....
Was smokey over in Wanker Park today too. Came back to Summit and it was much worse. Rain has been spotty but intense. Friday rain was super heavy for about 30 mins. Rode bikes around the divide the last two days and no rain, even though it was threatening. I bet there was some dry lightning to start some fires too.
Sunday & Today - I had frost on the windshield
This Summer - driest and hotest I can remember? Anyone have any statistics
I'm ready for late summer, early fall
^^^ this morning when I woke up in the flat that you could sense it a bit cooler. Actually got a smile knowing the days are getting shorter. Attic fan and cool nights is sweeeeet!
Dry and hot on front range also. last week of rains helped but dam dry.
I'll seconded your weather request.

Anyone here about a new fire (not Sivercreek) on Gore Pass?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...26eb34d13c.jpg

Nope. That's the only one I know about, and my paid fisherpeeps didn't mention anything.
Wasn't '02 or '03 pretty bad? I remember Lake Dillon being super low.
This kinda reminds me of 2010 when the Four Mile fire happened in Boulder in September.
2002 was Hayman Fire (COs largest fire at 138k acres) and Missionary Ridge fire (71k COs 4th largest fire) and 9 more CO fires over 10k acres. I think that was the worst CO fire season in history (followed by 2012). It was drought following a drought 01-02 winter and Lake Dillon was super low 02-03 winter.
Mtb at Wanker Park today and smoke is pouring in from the north. So depressing.
