The best show I’ve ever experienced. Sports, concert, theater, movie; the best. Just great. I got on on a lottery but it’s a bargain at $200 regular price. I’ll see this again for sure.

good lord no. historical rap? just stab my eyes and ears out.
2015 called, wants this thread back.
Broadway is wack
You guys are heathen. It’s a great great show. I was listening to the soundtrack and it doesn’t capture the dynamic of the live show at all.
Truly great theater. But I’m a theater brat. My mom was in show business.

I don't like musicals. Too much goddam singing and dancing.
No surprise from buttah. That phish and dead stuff is the polar opposite of broadway. A country stomp is more his style.

I'm not a theater guy at all, I've seen one play/musical in the past 20 years. But I'm also not a fucking Philistine. I'd go see the show in a heartbeat if I could get tickets.
To pigeon hole yourself that you don’t like rap or hip hop or theater is so narrow. There is plenty of traditional music in there. Plus it has full rock band doing the score and the music director on piano leading just kills it.
This kinda sums it for me.
“Hamilton” grabs you by the head and the heart in the first song, the title number, and never lets you go. Many leave the theater only go home and blast the soundtrack.”
The Hamilton hype seems like a bunch of trustfunders and other well quaffed 1 percenters allowing themselves to admit they like rap as it is socially acceptable in Hamilton, vs. blasting the "10 Crack Commandments" at a dinner party.
Don't get me wrong, I'd rather watch Hamilton than the Nutcracker or some other classical thing, but after seeing it a year or so ago with a client it just seemed a bit too worked up as the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Going to Chicago in September for a wedding and planning on seeing it then. I like theater, though not always musicals, figure it's still worth checking out.
^^^Start working on the tickets now. Great show that became a weird phenomenon that drove up prices. Still prolly worth it.
Good seats in SF are $200 or less. Not outrageous for this large a production and a much better value than an arena concert.
Other than non-white actors playing founding fathers there is nothing provocative about the show or story.
Yeah we've got to confirm rehearsal dinner timing, etc. then we can pull the trigger. Right now it's looking like a Saturday matinee with balcony seats for $90 and good seats for as little as $147. Less than I expected, but there are already re-sellers with jacked up prices for the best seats.

Oh, and my neice's friend bought fake tickets, so there's that.
Historical musicals? How are you ever gonna top Springtime for Hitler?
Lin Manuel Miranda is no Bialystock and Bloom!
Springtime for Burr?
Every city it’s in has a lottery for tix for free (or some very nominal fee)
My dad managed to win two tix & I saw it at the Kennedy center. We sat about 6th row orchestra.
It was very good (but not $400/ticket good). I thought people were a little overhyped on it
I'm more of a Chorus Line kinda guy. Warning: don't watch stoned.
And for shits and giggles:
TMI, but I grew up in that culture, of skinny fuckable chicks on coke since I was 3.
My grandmother from Donegal used to knit my legwarmers and sew my satins.
Inverted triple pirouettes were nothing. While my peers were playing baseball and basketball, I was in the studio 3x a week for 3 hours. Many studio sessions with the NYC ballet, etc. It always was awkward when I would invite my friends to my recitals.
That and balancing getting my black belt in taekwondo, and me on my bike, kept me out of a shitty house, very independent, and flexible. Added a lot to my climbing too.
And, holy shit, I didn't turn out gay! Go figure?
More shits and giggles:
I just learned somewhat recently that Mikhail is a big photog film nerd too. He did some cool things in his life:
I will never deny that I saved up for a pair of Capezio's instead of Jordans. It was an amazing formative time of my life.
If you are cultured, without prejudiced conceptions, you can learn a lot in this life, and meet a lot of amazing people.
