Is it wrong to let your dog pee on a neighbor's grass? I know urine can kill grass, but in my experience it's only when it happens alot in the same place, like in your own fenced yard where your dog hangs out. But I figured occasional dog pee is not a problem.
But today, I was walking my dog and she peed on a neighbors lawn near the sidewalk (I had her on a leash). A person who was not the homeowner was walking by and gave me a hard time for allowing that. Waddyathink? I ran into a friend on the walk who has a dog and he said basically what I thought- it's a problem in his back yard from his own dog but tons of dogs pee in his front yard (like all of our yards) and it is not problem (I have no lawn these days so it's been a few years since I have thought about my own lawn in this way).
Some people have "no dogs on lawn" signs and I respect that. But if they don't, is it bad to allow your dog to do this?
Btw I looked it up and a female's pee probably isn't significantly worse that a male's, it's mostly about the concentrated nitrogen. Females sometimes pee in one place more than male dogs do but on a walk mine at least likes to spread it around as much as a male does.
