This form of skiing should not be encouraged.

So is hop really going to be burned at the stake if it doesn't snow this winter?
I read it on the internet it must be true.

That was apparently a couple years ago but I was too busy skiing to notice!

Heliotrope was awesome today up high. ~12-18 inches of dense PNW pow.
-
Legitimate send on heliotrope! Seems official now...
Not impressed with the forecast or options on hwy 2, I still decided to take my board for a soggy stroll yesterday. Seen an inch or two on the Jupiter cam. Drove up Smith Brook to the back side of rock. Tennis shoes in the rain to snow line at 5'000'ish. Abruplty went from nothing to knee deep. Skinned the next 2 g to the top. Low vis, cascade snow. But depth was no issue! West face of rock is nothing but grass, so it only needs a foot.
Guaranteed to be crap now, but highly recomended if you can catch a window before Smith Brook snows in.
Joined a set of skin track 50' from the top, from some other who solo'd from the south.
