For those inclined to make their own templates or interested in helping get them created vs expecting/waiting on others to provide them, here are some initial thoughts that might help you:
1) Print and verify scale of this binding template base sheet.
2) Cut into individual pieces of paper and tape to a flat surface.
3) Clearly & accurately mark BSC & heel center of your boot with a marker or grease pencil.
4) If tech or tele bindings, attached the toe piece to the binding pins on the boot. Otherwise place alpine binding in toe piece
5) Place boot and binding on the toe base sheet with your BSC at the corresponding, nearest 5mm BSC on the base sheet, along with heel centered on the center line. Measure from boot toe to front set of binding toe piece screw holes.
6) Mark toe holes with pencil. Measure binding holes from one side to the same side (ie, left and left and bottom & bottom) along with diagonals. Mark on template base sheet.
7) Do the same to the heel with the binding set to the middle of it’s adjustable range on the heel sheet. Measure from boot heel to rear holes of heel piece.
8) If you have a flat bed scanner, scan the binding bottoms. (Ideally, with the boot attached.)
When I find more time I’ll expand on this and will add a post in our tuning tips. It’s been an ongoing issue and I’ve thinking of ways to facilitate this process, including images, drawings and videos.
