Pretty good first day, bud.
Private ski area, free refills...
Don't get no betta.
We all know you're just out there skiing freshies all day, but stay safe while you're doing it.
And thanks!
Wish I wasn't stuck at work today but such is life. Get some mags! Also, if anyone is wondering, I heard Peruvian lift is down due to mechanical issues and will be through the weekend. Dress warm for those cold zoom-->little cloud laps!
Here Here!
I think TFW is the official Maggot greeter and Dog petter at Alta
And he gets to ski around and chuck bombs occasionally
Pretty much my dream job...
BE SAFE TFW!!!!!
In other news, I fixed the alternator in the shaggen wagon.
And yesterday the alternator shit the bed in me truckster.
Reading the tea leaves of my misfortune
I predict this storm will overdeliver and be rightsideup.

Somewhere BobMc is cackling at my automotive maladies
picked a bad morning to take off I guess. would love to hear some updates on conditions if anyone gets to wandering...
spruces was a clusterfuck of unplowed, innovative parking > not sure of the point of the new gate. saw 10-12". snow was chalky but not heavy or damp. no naturals and couldn't get anything to move. been skiing the direct east facing and skied really well. cops were checking at the bottom of bcc. the next week should be pretty solid.

A bit jelly from back east today, but hoping like hell to walk into one of these cycles in mid-January. Git sum! Build that base up!
Backcountry report - Pretty good over on Cardiff. Surfy and fast. No instabilities noted. Resorts got some pretty impressive results with the Avalauncher. on northern aspects.
Fkna boys another rippin day.
Here comes a great season.
Is this February already?
65" of base and we had no snow like not so long ago.
Maybe global warming has it's short term benefits...
Anyone making a late jaunt up LCC tomorrow and wanna carpool? I'll he hitting the bottom of bcc around 1030
I’m planning on heading to the Bird about that time, not dealing with that early canyon closure bullshit. If you want to jump in my car I’ll get you up there.
Jtran ain't as hot as your car companion tv celebrity from last season, but, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
430am carload of bird employ delivered safely. UDOT checking tires at the mouth gave us a shaka. Rain to tanners lightly snowing in the bird hood looks like they mighta got 8 to 10 since the pause yesterday. Bands of rain in the valley I image if they start running east the peaks will squeeze out some more love. I would have stayed for interlodge but them puppers ain't picken up their own shit. Looks like a good day in store. Bob I might jump into the beemer of good vibes for the ride up or offer to drive your miss daisy in brunhilda the shaggen wagon as long as she ain't too fugly for the fancy parking spot. Yall be safe out there...
Go Team Win !
Interesting....UPD isnt allowing traffic to wait east of wasatch Blvd on 94th. Makes sense if they are trying to allow access to that neighborhood in the mouth. Here's a quick sketch of where they seem to let you line up. Who knows if this is the new normal or they are just shooting from the hip.Attachment 306146

Had this on the last day or our trip last season, in line at 7.15 am from the end of your green line near Altawood, took 2.5+ hrs to get near the lights at Wasatch Blvd and Little cottonwood Rd - decided to call it a day and head back to the hotel :(
They did some stuff like that last year a few days. In other news, work still sucks.
The line up and early starts are depressing for sure

Today turned out just fine. Canyon opened at 8:10ish. By 8:25 we were at the merge where 3 cops were checking tires on every vehicle. That slowed things down a bit, but it meant we cruised up the canyon and were inside GMD by 8:45.
Oh, and the skiing did not suck. Very fast and surfy. West buffler was going off.

Toledo Chute already ripped, similar size to last week's storm slab.
I'll be passing through Jan 20-22, hopefully a day at the basin, a day at Solitude and maybe even a day up LCC.
12/14/19 will forever be on the list of A++ days for this century (so far) at Alta along with 3/4/18, Black Wednesday and 12/30/03! I don't recall EVER seeing so many overstoked folks in one single place in my life. The mountain is skiing like it has twice the base that it does :) Smooth as a baby's butt High Boys from the peak to the creek was absolute insanity!! Tired body, but overflowing heart and soul :)
