I think bodge is from ye olde English: to do a clumsy or inelegant job, usually as a temporary repair.
At least that's how my British former roommate used it.

Oh yeah, Skier666 is an expert on stoke...
I was going to mention Marshall, and say the same thing.
Well, at least we still have summit. Oh wait...

^When I joined TGR 13 odd years ago I must've PM'd Marshall just about every day asking him about skis and boots and bindings. I'm surprised he never told me to "piss off!" the amount of inane questions I lobbed his way. Met him once in the early oughts down in the front range and he mounted several pairs of skis for me super quick and super cheap. Never got to ski with him. I think he still reviews gear for Blister, but for some reason I feel it's mostly mountain bikes now?
The sticky he had up in Tech Talk for years was my goto: the one where he listed classic skis (Lawn Chairs, Exploders, etc.) and all of their intricacies. I loved reading that thread.
Ditto for Tyrone. He was a heavily presenced Tahoe maggot for a number of years and I used to pester him to no end about equipment and mountain conditions. No idea what happend to him.
^how cool is that. Good to know.
I’m not an expert but I did stay at a holiday inn last night.
