When it's been a low tide year then it's starts going off, the natives get restless.
Especially when it's like this.

You get this.

Monday caught me completely off guard. I have never seen such crowd in my 30 years skiing there. I’ve bumped into people who flew in from LA just to catch this storm ...so I’m thinking Monday was just an anomaly and not the norm. Fuck people, you all go back to where the hell ever you came from. :D And FUCK Meadows for not operating CEX. I went up there to catch those untouched 3ft+ ...but they didn’t even have enough staff scheduled to set up the fucking lines ...ahhhh, I feel better now.
Ps, K2 et.al - sorry I missed you all ...but when I rolled into parking lot at 8:45ish, I knew connecting was out of the question. Next time for sho.
FKNA AC, we certainly did. Thanks for the pics, and the buddy pass, and the company! I would have gone mental in those lines without cool Mags to hang with.
Great to meet you and R too! Super fun day, glad we connected.
I second the run of the year nomination. Best run in ab-Mag I've ever had.
Thanks again!
Others thought the same thing, but the HRM line was almost as egregious!
only shot I got yesterday: k2skier on the last turns in abmag:

Fuck me... I don't look fat in that pic! I'd like to order a framed print please. In other news, 2 years ago, no one in my color combo. This year, everyone! Time to change it up.
I got out of my truck at 8:55am, fwiw. We missed you. It's all we could talk about all day.
If we had done it again, I think we would have. Hit fright trees instead and walked up to HRM. Even HRM was pretty crowded. Lift ops were "challenged" y'day. It was my first ever weekday, so not sure if it was just an issue of normal Monday staffing levels with incredibly abnormal attendance. Even so, simply setting up their cattle maze like Bachy and having just ONE lift-op calling out the next row would make untold worlds of difference.
Figured everyone was saving their sickdays and spouse points up during the mediocre start to the season. Also I was not going to be able to pull of an early enough start so I went against the flow of traffic. First few runs convinced me Hoodoo was a good choice.

Backside has not had enough heavy stuff to beat down the manzanita down low. The approach to the cat track takes some finesse. But I forgot mine in the truck.

Next snowfall should take care of the brush.
Let's start talking about BBI Bachy, 2018. We can do just about any weekend in March and the first half of April.

i think spring break is mar 26-30 (m-f) so really friday 23 - sunday april 1
Well, at the very least, simply with this week's weather, there will be coverage.
Weather patterns are similar for most of the northern Cascades. Looking back through 2007, the few seasons that started out relatively poorly that popped like things did this past weekend tended to have more weather behind that pop.
Wife and I are just sitting down planning our late March trip and because I have Friday the 30th off, that's the weekend for us. I think we'll be there from Thursday through Sunday. Gonna rent a camper if roads allow.

Toying with Bachelor time end of spring break weekend, or maybe avoiding crowds by doing M/T/W after break
I went up to Washington. Skied Crystal on Monday with Crank from Boston. Then skied what's supposedly the rarest of rates - an empty powder day at Alpental. Attachment 226017Attachment 226022Attachment 226020Attachment 226021

Nuken & Puken on bachy. No lines, excellent snow light winds. Lets see that 100".
