How come, as of now, we haven't evolved articulated elbows so we can scrub our backs

Well science?

Because we evolved on the savanna where there are trees to scratch our backs on. Had we evolved on the tundra or the steppe we would be able to scratch our own backs. Also, scratching someone else's back is the social equivalent of apes picking little insects out of each other's fur. We shouldn't have to scratch our own backs. Thirdly, paleontologists have discovered that the first tool invented by early hominids was a back scratcher.

I’m more curious about oral self stimulation. Why can’t “most” of us do that?!
