Wow, fantastic photos!

Nice NEK!
Crazy how orange/pink it was up there. Down here there was this strange greenish hue to the sky after the front moved through.
Thanks everyone.
x-post from the photography sub-forum:
The light last night was incredible. Everything lined up just right to make the air itself look like it was on fire. Everything took on an orange glow. It was very surreal.
Here are a few more...
Storm rolling in with lots of lightning:

If anyone is thinking I got carried away with the saturation slider, here is a shot that I didn't touch at all in post processing (no contrast adjustment, shadow lightening, etc). Just a straight export of the RAW to JPEG out of Lightroom. Note that doing this leaves the image a bit flat due to the nature of a RAW file. :

Moving sux. Had to delay the move this week until month's end, a few things cropped up and I have to pay a whole month for the POD, so we took some of the pressure and stress off us with the additional time. Still trying to unload some furniture. Finishing up the second floor painting, starting on the 1st floor this week. Been in this house since 1992 and the soil line in basement decided to develop a hairline crack. FML.
Fun ride at Carse Hills last night once the rain deluge gave up. Found a pod of younger UVM bros waiting out the storm in the lot to sneak a ride in before sunset; thanks for the tour! Preacher was super fun, wish that trail went on for miles. The rock stuff and rocks were entertaining as hell in the wet... stay off those brakes! Gorgeous sunset on the return journey home. Looking forward to checking out Saxon Hill later this week.
Little late but from Saturday night at Tree House! First time I got to really hang out and enjoy their surrounding. Attachment 287432Attachment 287433

Since it looks like we’re turning this into a summer activities thread [emoji18], mtl’s newest skate parc is way sick:

Although I hear they’re about to fence it off for a summers worth of bridge maintenance. Keep up that excellent planning Ville de Montreal [emoji849]
I guess it will be back to old faithful jarry beach in the meantime

So at the risk of Buttah giving me grief for x-posting photos...
I enjoyed a great family weekend in MA.
I was taking a photo of this scene:

When two ladies decided they wanted to climb up on the rocks in front of the lighthouse. I could have been upset they were butting into my photoshoot.

But...
I asked if they wanted to do a few poses. They said sure and I think a got a few good ones.

those are great but really everyone is here to hear me complain about the endless swarms of black flies.
Nice shots NEK!
They always remind me why I ultimately prefer to spend the summer in the city.
Contrary to the black flies, these alohas are getting harder and harder to find around here:

Not sure if another batch is coming or if that was it
No see ums and green heads where I was on the coast.

We play Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Sunday mornings until the bike polo guys show up in the afternoon. There is an email list and it’s game on when at least 6 skaters are in. 8+ is ideal but it isn’t happening nearly as frequently as it did in years past thus the shameless promotin’. Sunday skates are fairly consistent. The new rink is awesome and has great lighting, so we’re hopeful the weekday skates get consistent again.
Shin pads / gloves / some guys wear helmets (bike helmets work). No contact but it’s usually competitive. Mix of playing skills, mostly around C/D/E level in the local men’s leagues. Shoot me a PM if you’re interested.

Training day with saws and lopps. Two large deadfalls removed from Fells fireroads. Bugz should be easing off in the North. Lots to do.
Let me know when you head up.
I can tell you that the bugz are not easing off in the northern Champlain Valley....
