I was walking along seventh Ave. some time ago and there he was out in the street in front of Carnegie Deli, "arguing", or essentially doing a schtick for a cop to try to stop him giving a ticket to his buddy for illegally parking, the shoulders shrugging and the hands palms up, going ey, cmon! I don't know if the ticket was written, but the young cop had his pad out, threatening to do so, but, he wasn't writing and had a little smile on his face, probably enjoying this audience with a master. Jackie had the skin color of someone who hadn't seen the light of day in years. I'm guessing he didn't spend a lot of time in Miami.
Loved him in The Jerk.
Nice write up

Funny Jew. Sometimes he was even too Jewish for the jews. RIP, Mr. Maza
Saw him twice
Snuck in to the Nevele during my summer camp days in NY state
Then saw him many years later in Cardiff
Both performances brilliant
A real master of standup.
