Possible to Fashion a Greenland Paddle?

Possible to fashion a sort of Greenland paddle by trimming blades of a Euro paddle down? Just wondering.

I guess you could try but I think you would end up with very little surface area on the blades. It would probably make for a pretty shitty paddle.

The more I think about it, you are right. Thx.

I think there is more to it than just cutting down a regular paddle the blade has to be long and thin

but you can just google shape & sizing, a buddy made one from a piece of wood he beachcombed

yeah it's definitely possible. I would recommend using a wood that is less dense; the heavier the blade, the more fatiguing it is to paddle with

Once you paddle greenland, its hard to go back. Gearlabs makes sweet ones!
