The Official Ski Weight and Other Stuff Thread
First, I would like to state that I cannot take credit for any of the weighing.
I merely went through all the threads, compiled all the data, and made a fancy spreadsheet.
All my data was compiled from the following threads.
The true thanks goes to these individuals.
UAN's thread
http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=58108
verbier61's thread (which is not included as those arent actual weights)
http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=35656
Ireallyliketoski's thread (which has some unique info not included in my chart)
http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=21117
laseranimal's thread
http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=74552
Gurterno's thread
http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=76054
I appoligize if I missed anyone, but hey, theres a lot of threads here.
Notes:
Some skis are listed twice and with different weights.
Thats because I included all data.
Some weights may be weird, like shorter skis weighing more than longer skis of the same brand and model, but like I said, I just got the data from the other threads and put them together.
Regarding dimensions\radii, I did the best I could to find the right info, but if something is glaringly wrong, let me know and I can update it.
Skis without radii, I used the calculator in Ireallyliketoski's thread that he has a link to.
Base Area Appx Calc - heres what I did.
I broke down the ski into 3 parts.
A1 = The rectangle formed by the wasit and the entire length of the ski
A2 = The two triangles formed at the tip outside of the rectangle formed by Area1
A3 = The two triangles formed at the tail outside of the rectangle formed by Area1
A = A1 + A2 + A3
Lets assume
Tip width = x
Waist width = y
Tail Width = z
Length = L
I also assumed the waist, was at 40% the Length from the tail.
Formulas were as followed;
A1 = y*L
A2 = (x-y)/2 * (.6L)
A3 = (z-y)/2 * (.4L)
The result was pretty accurate when I compared the cad file area to the calculated area as above.
Within 1sqcm'ish.
Thanks to dfinn for hosting some of the image files.
Hope this helps.
