I think that is like +3cm or more from punch on this years run. But seriously, pick the widest, most center spot on the ski and mount there.
Don't go too centred. They ski best a bit back from the actual centre point which is more centred than traditional skis. It all depends on what you are used to though. On the old design, the guys who were used to the centred park style liked them forward and the more traditional skiers liked them a bit back. Consensus was that the more rearward of the old scale was best.

After reading spindrifts review over at epic, PM'ing him, doing my own assessments considering how I like other skis mounted AND mailing Keith about my thoughts I ended up mounting -7 from center.
I have the 190s. My pair measure 188,8cm (straight tape pull) giving center at 94,4cm. The dimple is set at 105cm from the tip or -10,6 from center. That is too far back in my mind so moved up to -7. Keiths answer to my plans was this:

Would the 180 be too short for 5'10'', 175 lbs given that the dimple is at -10 off the center? Should I get the 190? Since these skis are on the stiff side im thinking about getting the 180

You should get the 190 at 175 lbs. both lengths are probably stupid fun in deep, but the continuous rocker and r/r is going to make these ski shorter than anything else...I think. Fwiw, at 6'0" 165, I wouldn't dare go shorter than 190.

It also depends on your intentions for the day. Tight trees w/deep snow, 180 is probably fun and easy. But 190 is barely harder to ski if at all, and comes with a higher speed limit in more open terrain...
Ya 190 is my size but wondering if i can get away with 180.You know any one who is selling the 190? I can get the 180 brand new for like $320...

for 2012/2013 powder boards:
170: dimple is +7 from ski center (7 cm back from ski center)
for 180, 190 and 200: dimple is +8 from ski center
2-3 cm forward of dimple for 180, 190, 200: +5-6 cm from ski center
I have a pair of 185 pow boards I bought from pwhntr
and the mount is ski center +8 cm.
I'll ski them first before I do anything.
Is the mount point recommendation on the older models similar to the current model, i.e. +5-6 from ski center?
Kind of. Before Keith started putting a dimple on the sidewall, the mount points were spec'd as a straight pull of the tape measure from the tip to the mount point. I believe 99 cm was a good number for the 185 (I had mine at ~97-ish and found them too forward), but you can search old threads to double-check. Anyway, that number should put you in the ballpark of -6 cm from ski center.Quote:

I mounted tele bindings 2cm in front of the dimple on 190s and they're very good there. I'm 165 and not a particularly good skier and the 190s are crazy easy to ski, very, very quick. I wouldn't want anything shorter.

I mounted my 200's on the dimple, the first day I skied them was a 24" day and they felt great, the second time I skied them in 12" and was not happy. Talked to Keith and he suggested +2.5cm from the dimple, now they are great again. Mine were the first year of the new design when they went even size 180. 190, and 200 away from numbers ending in 5.
Ended up mounting -7cm from center on my 190's. That equals moving forward by 3.6cm on mine.
This was asked/not answered in the general Praxis mounting thread: Any need to de-tune the Pow Boards upon arrival?

The big issue is to know which year Powder Boards you really have. The simple formula on this one is:
If you have the first year of the current design, mount 3cm in front of the dimple. This includes the "2012" overstock sale skis (which I believe should can also be ID'd by their UHMW tops).
If you have skis built after that (2013 or current), mount on the dimple.
Family members have skied current 180s and 190s at both places. The current mark is favored by all. Great ski

Here is a question for other Pow Board users out there, I picked a pair of second hand 195 powder boards which I am really stoked about. I haven't used them yet. Anyways, the edges are fairly rusty etc, probably dull, but is there any point in sharpening the edges on these bad boys? Should I just clean off the rust, or just let em be? I have never used a reverse sidecut ski before but I don't imagine the edges get used really?
^^^ Since thread drift mode has been initiated, I'll further it because I was just wondering this, myself. Just had my pows tuned with a 2deg base bevel for extra slarviness and the edges are pretty sharp. Was thinking about keeping them pretty sharp from the boot center back to help with getting back to lift on groomers, but wondered about detuning the crap out of them from the boot sole foreword to minimize splits. Anyone done this? Thoughts?
I skied a few mandatory schralped out groomers yesterday on my way home from the "backcountry".
That much width underfoot produces a lot of leverage in the boot. I struggle to get a good fit in AT boots due to my skinny feet and heel. The immense pressure transfer into my boot was hard work - I had to cramp up my feet muscles just to ski. It hurt. Kind of like skiing hard in boots that are too big.
One thing I noticed was the unwanted bight the reverse sidecut sharp edges had underfoot. I wanted a detuned edge there so I could wash them more and reduce the energy wrenching into my boot/foot. Pleased do not detune based just on this experience. But unless you really need sharp edges underfoot, perhaps consider researching it some more.
I only ski tour out of resorts, but I won't use PB's on any day where I have to move back through resort to get home. That is not complaining, just being practical.
My 180s just arrived. Well travelled already, courtesy of Fedex, with 2 days in Oakland, 4 days in Honolulu, 2 in Sydney, then a night in Auckland!
Anyhoo, they are gorgeous (UHMW see-through top sheet) and should be interesting in Japan in January. Dimple on this pair is at -10cm - 99.5cm from tip, 79.5cm from tail - just to throw another curve ball. Will mount at -8cm.
Did I mention that they are gorgeous?
