Brown is max worthy but not supermax. That contract is really going to limit Boston's ability to fill out the backend of their roster in the coming years. It kind of sucks how the supermax was supposed to help teams retain their guys but now it's almost a punishment with the current cap structure.

Every new max contract is the richest in NBA history. Their options were SuperMax, trade him for .50 on the dollar, or let him walk. Such is the reality of today's NBA.
They really need the difference between a supermax and a max to not count against the cap and second apron luxury tax. It's so obvious and yet... here we are.
