Nine years later, my quiver is even older.
-skied in a comp this weekend on '08 Kneissl Tankers 190. Still in immaculate shape, one of my faves.
-'06 Scot Schmidt Pro 188 for groomer duty.
-'05 Stockli Laser Cross Pro 188 are still my fastest skis, nastar destroyers.
-'11 Movement Super Turbo 192 got an awesome day cat skiing this year. Don't get used enough to replace them.
-'12 Stockli Stormrider 95 192 just entered rotation as DD.
-'93 Elan RC DH 218 still makes an appearance for gaper day.
I'm 6'4, and nobody makes frontside skis for grown ups anymore. I'm not a troglodyte; I'm 43 and still ski in anger, and the industry has moved on without me. If I lived somewhere with gnarlier terrain, I might be happy with a 185, but I don't and am not. Saving up for a heritage lab R99 when Marshal makes a 193.

That is rad. Love it. No skis are made like that anymore (stockli excepted). Heck, finding a ski with an alu tail insert is almost impossible today. Production seems to get cheaper every year. Who puts paulownia in an inbounds ski? It should be a secret but brands make it a feature. Crazy. Can't deny how some of the new gear skis though: it's most impressive considering how light even the current heavy weights are.Quote:

Fisher RX-8's in 178. 119 tip, 68 underfoot 114 tail ( I think) I ski them 1/2 times a year. I have yet to find a ski that will turn like these can, you just have to really commit as they bite back but holy crap are they fun. And with the tip, Ive done a fair share of powder on them.
Salomon pocket rockets, from around 2003. Once every year or two I take out for a couple runs of messing around. Doesn’t really count but it’s fun and I like the high fives from thr old timers who still remember them.
Bought these off MikeD about that same time then gave them to my brother. He uses them a lot skiing with the kids as they're such an easy to ski tool! Classic Attachment 452765Quote:

Now the 1950's era Northland FIS Model Slalom-Downhill ones are significantly older, but not in "regular" use, so I'm not sure the 1-2 day I went out on them counts.

2017 Dynastar Twister - The final year model for these classic sticks (get fucked Rossignol). Bought from Forerunner in Killington (the best ski shop on the planet). My ski for bumps, and my daily-driver any time it's been >3 days since the last fresh.
2011 Scott Mission - Handed down to me by a Mag (this place fucking rules). My powder/crud ski.
That's it. That's my whole quiver and the only skis I've ever owned. Gunna ski 'em till I snap 'em.
Anybody still rocking the Rossi Sickles? Have been skiing mine pretty regularly for the past couple years and still haven't found anything comparable yet. Good thing they dont have any camber to lose so hopefully I can rock these for many years to come.
Unfortunately I got new boots this year and these and a pair of LPRs need to decide if I should sell or just do the third mount.
