I guess my point was that if the OP liked the Ener-g then he might find the fit/performance of the newer T-1 a good replacement.

IF I was you, I would start monitoring the used sites ( ebay, sidelineswap, ,,, ( others ) ) for little used Garmonts - maybe the more recent Scott 4-buckle... )
try putting a new liner in your old Syner-G ( - and start thinking about how you might replace the bellows ( inner tube, rivets, and ShoeGoo would be my route ).
even if the Scarpa new shell works for you, Duckbills look like they are becoming scarce...
Just for the heck of it ,
you might want to try a few of the new light AT boots and think about the newer tech.nology ( Salomon Shift, Marker Duke PT. Or be a rad. dude and go with an ultralight tech set-up )
Telemark may not be dead, but Old-school is hard to come by...
Good luck ! skiJ
On the rare occasion there is enough snow to ski in Durham I flip a coin between K2 ski blades and the World Piste and early vintage Scarpa tele boots. It depends on how far/long I want to go play. But, ya, naw to either when paying to ride the lifts somewhere. Last time I freed the heel lift served was at a Timberline Tele Day around 2018
Gibo, there’s a xc ski swap in Tahoe city this Saturday. There’s usually a few tele boots and mounted skis for sale for a song. If you come up short, you can pop into NUTS in TC the used area of Sports Hub to see if they have anything on consignment.
What is your size?
i think you wana try going used
I know the local guy who is a sometimes tele wanker told me he quit ordering Tele gear cuz he had only sold 2 pair of boot the year before so i wouldnt expect to see tele product in a retail store
skizix sort of mentioned it but, What's the going opinion on best intuition liner for stiff NTN boots (crispi WC)? My stock liners are packed out. I've never tele'd with wrap liners before but am curious on it. I think alot of folks use the tour tongue liners for everday tele, but i'm thinking maybe a downhill wrap for max beefiness?
I skied for years in Tx Comps with Power Wraps, great for locking in my skinny calves, no problems for resort skiing. A little stiff for touring, but not too bad.
Also not good for touring but great at the resort: Intuition's Race:HD. Not sure how it compares to the Wraps.
Intuition changed the nomenclature on their whole lineup this year, but these responses have been helpful. Thanks. Yeah, should have mentioned I don't care about touring with this kit, only sidecountry bootpacks for these boots.
Since we are at it. Anyone tele zipfits?
Thanks for all of the responses. These responses reflect what I've found trying search online for a new setup. With 75mm being kind of phased out, it's tough to find stuff.
So I ended calling telemarkdowns.com. I've looked at their site before, but I called last week and talked to Erik. He listened to my plight- 57 yo telemarker. Likes 75mm and fat skis. Sorta NTN curious, but not really wanting to go there. Talked to him for about 15 minutes and he recommended a set-up he thought would be good for me. I just said the hell with it, I don't really want to be on a wild goose chase for gear, so I ended up ordering a ski they make, the Summit Cone Exile. I had Axl's put on them and also ordered Crispi XR's. He said everyone that buys the XR's raves about them.
So I'll report back after I ski the set-up a few times. I'll either be stoked or have some gear for sale.
Powerwraps were my Jam for the later years I was on tele gear, so much better than anything else for me. I toured in mine for years and it was a bit rough but doable. Sounds like you're not looking to tour on this setup so you'll be golden. That's how I would do tele if got back into it. Modern AT gear is just so good.
Tongue vs. wrap is kind of a personal thing. Always dealt with the top of the foot pressure point and the tongue moving around in tongue liners, especially touring. Once I went wrap I could never go back. Also helps with the skinny ankle scenario.
My old boots are shot and I sold all my Bishop bindings to TriUngulate years ago so if I wanted to dabble I think I'd just bite the bullet on NTN. Sizable investment though.
I have a bunch of extra NTN Freedom bindings (Lg and Small) in good shape, always down to sell them cheap to a mag.
I see used NTN boots selling cheap, so the price of entry for NTN setups seems the same as duckbill.

Looks like across the pond you can still find Scarpa 75mm.
Have not been in free heels in + 10 years. Even now the 1st few alpine ski turns feel weird.
Yeah, I have GFTs in my TX Pros. I had Maestrale XT liners (similar to Pro Tours) in them before, and they lasted about half a season before packing out more than I liked. The GFTs hold my skinny foot and ankle better on the up and the down, which means I don't have to Leukotape my heels when I tour anymore, and feel good inbounds. Highly recommended if you need to fill room in the huge Scarpa last.
hey, GiBo - Congratulations ! on the new set-up and on 'taking the plunge' ! I can't imagine that you won't like the new set-up ( not perfect, and we are twenty years older than we were twenty years ago ! )
I hope it brings you many years of satisfaction !
Congratulations !

My friend (a scarpa rep) has the “New tele boot” in his possesion. 62 deg of motion, front tech fittings and lighter plastic. He only has the right boot (his partner has the left) but he is going to let me ski them whenever he gets them back together.
Maybe tele is on life support?

Preparing my credit card for those new tele boots. Gotta buy it if you want more in the future. 62 degrees is all I need to justify it. Would love to get your perspective Laps
Any word on release date for the new boot?
