I mounted them at -2, one day on them, looks fine. The rec line is a bit forward for a kastle, similar to the gen z on the zx.

I ski the bmx 105 and 115 on the line.


the zx 108 flex like a complete noodle on the tip, not sure if it’s the same for the bigger size. I may finally mount them and try them though, why not. Actually thinking on putting a 200g binding on them for touring.

Had my first "real" outing on FX106Ti 192cm, after a disappointing first day trying to ski them with a faulty factory tune. Conditions were 2" of new on firm, classic dust on crust, but really not bad skiing and great for trying out a ski. Off trail was not really in, so did not get to try in that element. I found them pretty easy to ski. They are a stiff ski under foot and tail, but with a slightly soft tip makes them easy to engage. I thought they could be a little damper. Suspension is OK. They have almost a carbon like feel in they way they clink. They do have a lively and energetic feel for a big ski. They feel a lot more accessible than the M102 191cm, maybe giving up a little stability. I've also skied the BMX105HP a bunch, a fabulous ski. IMO, dampness and build quality of the FX is not quite as good as the 105HP. 1.5 thumbs up!

Anyone here need brand new TX103 pre-cut skins in 173cm length? I may have a pair to sell

Loving my ZX108 in untracked and anything remotely soft as it's so easy to ski and it floats like a much wider ski. However, in the afternoon powder day chop it does get knocked around a bit due to the soft shovel and the relatively low weight. Does the FX106ti "fix" this problem, i.e. better soft chop performance but still the same fun performance in untracked snow. Or because of the hollow tip, it'll still have that same problem?

I’d say yes.

I learned with these FX106ti you really need to keep the pressure on the balls of your feet, not forgiving at all with any weight on your heels. I’m loving them.

Going from smooth groomer to chop and back I think they are stable and still float well.

I’ve had both. Started with ZX108 and was happy but felt the way you do. Was intrigued by FX106ti and on my 2nd season with ZX I added the metal 106s. Took maybe 2 outings A/B’ing and the verdict was in — FX hands down. Maybe because I lean metal but didn’t feel I gave up much float and was absolutely positive the crud busting was multiple times better. Where I ski - it’s cut up fast. A chop ski is king. On FX, still delivered on stash runs and speed increased considerably.
eta I no longer own ZXs

Agree 106ti doesn’t get pushed around much in chop. For the right skier (directional charger), the 106ti is about as good as it gets. Last year I went from ice on the east coast to a few days later snowbasin and powder mountain and it was just as good both places. Just don’t get backseat or lazy and it does everything very very well.

I haven’t tried the 108 but the zx115 is a beast too. little more easy going than the 106ti.

^^^Hmm... intersting. The FX106ti can be head very cheaply right now... Or go for the 115. I think maybe I'll go for the 115 as the 108 does come in handy and it's so fun to ski and doesn't punish my bad skiing.

Question for the Kastle group... I'm searching for a new Western daily driver - 100 ish waist, heavy ish, can put on edge and carve decently, but most time will be in moguls & trees, so needs a loose enough tail and some pivot-ability. Based on my love of my GPOs and old EHPs, I'm drawn toward heavier all-wood skis.
The ZX100 and 108 jump out as all wood, both >2000 gr in a 189/191, some camber but enough rocker/taper + loose enough tails to slash and pivot through tight spots.
Lots of people seem to love the 108, but there's not nearly as much info on the ZX100. Safe to say the 100 is basically a skinnier (lighter too) version? I saw some comment that maybe more cambered? Or are there bigger differences between the two? I'd like to go with the 100 since this would pick up all low tide duty, but not if it's a neutered down 108.

For what you describe the ZX 100 is great. It's kind of a sleeper compared to it's competition. We demo it at the store, my kid who just finished 3 years of FIS and is a strong 165lb skier said it was his favorite ski of all the ones he tried when we were testing. His daily driver is an M-Free 99 if that helps?

^^^ Yes, super helpful, thx Waxman. The MFree 99 is also kinda in the mix, but some good deals now on the Kastles. Makes sense that kind of a sleeper since it seems to be outside the norm vs traditional Kastles. If good enough for your racer kid, prob good enough for me!

Has anybody skied the Paragon 107 yet and can compare it to the outgoing FX 106ti. Looks like I can score a deal on last year's 106ti but wondering if it's worth stepping up to the 107. I currently have a ZX108 and I love it in fresh powder but it gets knocked around at the end of the day when the snow has setup a bit more. Would the 106ti ski that much differently than the 108?

Yes, I had the FX106ti and now have the paragon 107. I really liked the 106 except for the tail - it was too stiff, flat and squared. It would dig in and was hard to release. The paragon 107 - they totally nailed this ski. They fixed the tail. The ski is precise on firm snow with excellent edge hold and loose as hell in soft snow, can even slide it around with your weight a little forward when it’s firm. Incredible ski and they nailed the updates.

ZX115 or Paragon 107? Want to try some Kastles. Ex racer, put skis on edge and like to ski fast. Im torn as I like wider skis - most my skis are 112-122 but also like stiffer skis. Which woudl you choose? I have many skis so this is for trying Kastle - can ski them twice a year and throw them on ebay or 100x a year. Thanks

I have a pair of 186cm that I would let go for $200 shipped (less if you're local to SLC and I don't have to ship). Skis are in almost new condition but they would have 2 mounts.

I Have 192cm FX106ti with one mount for attack demos. $200. Filled this spot in my roster with the Corvus so passing along if anyone wants let me know. Will send pics.
