Ads, don't forget ads. I've wondered how much of the current tech world would exist without the military and trying to sell attention.
Eliezer Yudkowsky says we should be willing to destroy datacenters via airstrike.
Also this seems appropriate:

Chat GPT not so good at this although it clearly recognizes the merits of monoski and blades (WTF?). Also, why are the chairs sideways to the hill?

There's so much wrong with those photos it makes my head hurt.
And boots don’t match number of buckles or straps.
In the future, chairlifts will be sideways.
PS. That’s a mono board.
PPS. She’s into fruitbooting. Yeee hahhh. You know what that means :fm:
Yawn.
Wake mw when the chatborgs start asking questions instead of just answering them.
Pretty sure that's why they're letting you ask for free.

Damn
Jeebus.
That hits too close to home.
I’d say “meh”
Optical scanners with actuators have been exceeding human capabilities for a while. Even 50 years ago, plywood mills used scanners to assess moving sheets of veneer and chop out imperfections for best return way faster than a human
Did those plywood machines teach themselves how to do it in 6 hours? Did they organically discover shortcuts to further improve the speed of the process?
Couldn’t really teach itself.
But it would find better chop solutions that were not part of the algorithm
And remember this was in the days before a PC. The operative processors had like 16k of addressable RAM, running single threaded.
Did the device above find shortcuts, or just solutions the humans hadn’t considered?
Understood, but ...... they're coming for my tilty toy!!
