Patients dying in hallways, healthcare workers traumatized by being overworked, exposure, and attrition. An economy crippled by shelter in place, a populous so polarized we can’t agree on mask mandates. Public statements that the virus is living on fomite surfaces, rescinding that finding, but leaving the sanitation requirements in place. Super spreading, day-to-day businesses not knowing if they can open or what regulations are in place, every major not-for-profit healthcare system in the country on the verge of financial collapse.
Yet we were as prepared as we could be, and we didn’t learn anything that we could do better next time?
I’m not sure we live on the same planet.
