Nice job! -- you got some big feet Bobby--
You know what the girls say about guys with big feet?
^^^^ Big ski boots.
If any of you are dentists, you can use the the titanium posts you use for dental implants and cement them into the holes. If its behind or in front of the new binding its fun to embellish them with a tooth as a conversation starter.
I bought a 5/32” dowel. Sanded the end that was going into the hole slightly to get it started then put epoxy in the hole and ponded the dowel in with a hammer. Seems to have worked pretty well

Spent 2.5 hours last night digging through this thread and I think I'm good to go other than a drill bit. The Wintersteiger won't be back in stock for over a week and I fly out to Steamboat next Friday so that's not an option.
Just go with a 3.5mm and call it good or should I find an alternative? This is the first pair of ski's I've bought that weren't second hand so I'd rather not fuck this up.

I would buy a hardwood dowel/rod from hardware store. Sand dowel w/80g just to abrade(gets rids of mill glaze and helps with mechanical bond) and chamfer leading edge, then epoxy it in and seal the end grain on top(sounds like that's what pd did). You very will could cut the threads into the dowels. It might be overkill, but I do like the idea, especially for the oversize holes margo was dealing with.
I don't like those super tapered plugz from Tognar and bamboo skewers are a no go for me
Home with too much PTO. Thought about heading to the hill when I saw snow was in the forecast, but decided to stay home and get some shit done around the house. Already unmounted a pair of skis and put in inserts. Now need to drill another pair of skis to get ready for additional inserts once the others cure.
I know everyone likes action shots, so here's a little series.

Marking holes to ensure lack of conflict with previous mount. Plenty of room to work with going from Dynafit to Shift, especially since the previous mounts were slightly forward.
Going to take a quick lunch break then continue on. More photos to come.
Check template against a known mount as a double check, good thing too. Had the BSL off by almost 2mm. Adjusted and remarked holes
then set with an awl. Also discovered the shops mount on my other skis is a little off for the bonnet toe screw.

A little hard to see, but the puncture hole in the template is about halfway forward of the insert. I think this may have been discussed in the "SHIFT FAIL!!!" thread, but I haven't really caught up. Just thought it seemed a little funky when I threw the bindings back on after installing inserts.
Have some errands to run, but might have time to drill pilot holes on one ski before heading out.
Hoping to finish mount tonight, but also have evening plans involving alcohol.
Mounting some STH2's on a pair of 2018 180 Blizzard Bonafides. My options are either:
1) Mount +5 mm of the line and reuse two of the existing holes for the toes, or
2) Mount -5 mm of the line and drill all new holes
I'm leaning towards going -5 mm. Opinions?
Great info, mounted my new JSkis with Look pivots, easy peasy. Thanks for all the instructions!
I have a pair of Blizzards with older non EPF Barons I'd like to remount with squires. Can I reuse the the Baron holes and plug the extra hole I understand the Baron has over the Royal alpine binders? Can I swap the brakes from Barons to the Squires?
Yes I know Squires are 1. Low Din and 2. Markers but they work for me.
Hoping someone can confirm for me that the old kiwi P14’s hole pattern match up with the new P18 hole pattern. Blew up a P14 toe piece the other day and want to replace it with some metal without having to drill any new holes. Thanks in advance!!
Pivots are pivots
Mounted up some x88's for Kopi_red. Sick skis. Attachment 263483
If Look ever changed the FKS/P14/P15/P18 mounting pattern, pissed off skiers would burn the world down.
Haha! Agreed, thanks guys! Just wanted to be sure, haven’t owned a pair since they changed the toes to accept different boot sole types.
