a TSA agent is a fucking fuck.
Yesterday, I flew from Long Beach to JFK on a Jetblue flight. I checked three bags.
In one of the bags was the daypack I took up Humphrey's Peak on Thursday. My ipod was in it.
After the hike, I put my pack in the car and drove back to my parent's house. Between the thursday night and my flight on Saturday morning, I was at my parent's house in california. when I arrived late on thursday, i took the pack out of the car and brought it inside. on friday, i packed the daypack in my luggage. I did remove items (trash, etc) from the pack, but I don't remember taking the ipod out of the daypack, or even opening the zipper for the pocket that held the ipod.
Today I was unpacking the bag and I found a slip in there that said the TSA selected it for a thorough screening. Taking the daypack out, I saw that my headphones were still threaded through the it's headphone slot. But - my Ipod was missing.
I am double checking the rest of my luggage, and having my parents in california check their house, but it seems to me that the most likely explanation is some douchenozzle bureaucrat from the TSA has stolen my ipod. And a google search quickly turned up articles like this:
http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=266573
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/...in643165.shtml (17,000 complaints of theft against the TSA!!)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp...nguage=printer

I guess I need to file a complaint, but I'm not sure it'll do anything. This is the government. They don't give a fuck.
