The Song in Your Head - SA TR

That song in your head, when did it begin? Was it when you woke up? Perhaps it was on the way to the hill or up the lift. Maybe it began right before you dropped into your line. Or maybe you were just on your way to work or driving across the country…daydreaming.

How do you convey it to someone else? You’re riding the lift, or perhaps standing on top of that perfect line…and it hits you. The one song that is perfect for this moment…for this brief run through time. Can it be shared? Perhaps not. Maybe like me, you’re more of a musical person; someone who loves the flow and sound of a song. Which makes this all the more difficult. So how do you convey this perfection of the moment? Merely passing on the lyrics doesn’t seem to suffice. But somehow it must be put into words. Hmmmm…but the lyrics…the words…you look at them…and they fit too..

Yes, that song. The one perfect song, that takes you just to the right place…where everything is right in the world. Your turns flow into each other, and flow into the world. Happiness? No. It’s more than that. The lyrics are so simple…or are they. But how can you possibly convey the tune? How do you express the totality of it to someone else? Can it be shared? Perhaps not. But why not try.

Hmmmm…doesn’t cut it does it? There are so many tunes in my head when I’m out there. The above was “This is Music” by the Verve. They have a ton of songs that inspire me greatly. And there’s so much more…the charging flow of the Charlatans, the beauty of “Dramamine” by Modest Mouse, the entire “Every Night for You” disc by Juned, and so much more. Really there are just too many songs to list…too much to explain. And even better, there’s the inspiration of the great people around you and the music in their heads.

Great TR! If I wasn't trying to focus at work right now, I drop in some lyrics.
But if it's a full movie soundtrack playing- the grand finale or credits song has gotta be Aerosmith/Sweet Emotion or the Neptunes remix of Rolling Stones/Sympathy for the Devil.
