The cost weight and feature set of this little thing looks pretty interesting. Seems like it could fit pretty well for a lot of use cases.
Lacks any nav assistance (? Looks like anyway) but does add 2way sat non-emergency and emergency comms to a smartphone and stand alone one way SOS via sat.
100 bucks and 6 bucks a month, 2.5 oz; looks interesting. Whatcha think?

How does the satellite network motorola is using compare to iridium? In terms of coverage etc

Good point it appears to probably use Inmarsat, high earth orbit(?) which has drawn some complaints about reliability.Quote:
