TR: Dunderberg, 9/2/12

On Sunday I joined dookey67 and gone2alpine for some September turns at Dunderberg.
Upon arrival we were joined by a couple of Dunderberg tele skiing veterans, Eric and Thomas.
We were also joined by another special guest - more about that later.

We started out at Hidden Samurai Glacier.

It is about 75 miles from my door to the snow. However, due to the interesting last 5 or so miles, the drive time is around an hour and 45 minutes (which is the same as my drive time to Mammoth.)

Yes! A friend sent me a video from there last week. Besides the man-eating suncups it looked like there were also crevasses big enough to get lost in.

Sounds like Fun!

Mammoth is showing opening date of Nov 8th. I'm gonna have to hit up Dunderberg.
