Does this Watch/Altimeter exist? (with specs)

I've been ruminating on the "ideal" watch for work and I think I've narrowed down the things I'm looking for:


- steel or metal band (easy to clean when exposed to blood and guts)
- waterproof
- easy to read second hand (for taking vitals)
- digital reading as well that can be SET TO DISPLAY MILITARY TIME
- day glo or night light up/easy to read in the dark
- I'd also like it to be at least somewhat "feminine" looking... not enormous gorilla man-sized- at least something smaller/unisex that would fit on my wrist

- finally, NOT work related, but for personal fun I'd like to have an altimeter. also for personal fun it could have a vibrator attachment. :cool:

Does this exist in the world? I would pay $1 million dollars for it. Add altimeter and I go to $2 million.

Anyone who could point me in the right direction gets free beer and undying gratitude.

When you are treating patients, wear a cheap crappy watch that has a big seconds hand and easy to read screen and super night lights. $10-$20 at walmart and they are great!

Then get your nice watch for mountain pursuits.

Sorry, no metal band or vibrator. :tdo13: But the Suunto Lumi is a fully functional, feminine, bad-ass altimeter watch. If you get blood and guts on it, you could literally just put it through the dishwasher.

I have the men's version (Suunto Core) and I have been very impressed in real-world conditions. The compass sucks, but the Alti/Baro modes is exceedingly accurate in the mountains, even without calibration.

All or nearly all alti watches can be set to display in military time.

the old black casio altimeter with 4 yellow buttons sounds like what you want ,good watch but the 2 I had never survived battery changes and its been gone for >10yrs

my sunnto was fucking huge & leaked like a sieve ... the face would cloud up when it rains

now I say fuck expensive watches ,I just want a CHEAP watch that tells time ,has an alarm ,is waterproof and I can read in the dark

sporting a massive smurf blue swatch today it was our olympic parting gift ...it tells time and is water proof

I had the same problem with a Suunto Vector and replacement of the same. No such problems with my Suunto Core Alu, which has an aluminum case and, apparently, is well-sealed from the elements. It's still pretty fucking huge.

Look at High Gear for light reasonably sized watches at a very reasonable price. I love my Alterra (#3 the others died). Plastic band, but there are a lot of nooks for blood to hang out. I would wear it on EMS runs.

I got one word for you Benjamin...Plastics.


Forget the metal, water proof and plastic so it is easy to wash. I have a suunto altimax, never had a leaking problem, has a light and an altimeter, but no vibrator...but my fingers seem to create the same results.

If you really want the vibrator, just use an iphone, although it doesn't vibrate very strongly.:(

Summit, I'll probably get (another) cheapo $20 walmart special to wear to work most shifts (one I have now is already on the fritz), however I wanted a silver/metal band jobber for when I wanna feel vain & look spiffy :cool::cool:

It may have a digital second hand kind of like the sunnto's do. You may have to press a button and the seconds tick off on the digital readout?

It's detachable, you wanted a vibrator, right? Why do you think it is called a second hand?

I would kill for a watch that has a sweeping second hand instead of one that just ticks along.

I've got a Highgear ski watch (the model name escapes me). Its got an altimeter, barometer, digital compass, ski chrono, stop watch, different timezones, etc etc. Its a cool thing to have in the backcountry.

It retailed for $180 but I found it on sale for $80. I .would never buy that type of thing for $180 but I couldn't resist the $80 price.
