Buying a Used Camera - Is This a Good Deal?

I'm heading out to Mt. Hood in 2 weeks and would like a quality camera to use. I came accross this camera on Craigslist and the seller agreed to sell it to me for $150. I know very little about cameras. Does this have everything I need? Is this deal too good to be true? A little insight would be cool thanks.

Unless you have someone with you who does and can check out the camera, I would suggest you pass on this deal.

Looks like an old XT or XTi, is it not?

Like Bklyn said- unless you know how to check it out and make sure its going to work properly, you're making it tough. It looks like a good deal though.

Honestly, I'd just go with a good point and shoot. If you've never used an SLR before (and I'm assuming you haven't from your post) your photos will be far better with a P&S.

so ur buying a used DSLR? why not just buy a nice enthusiast point and shoot like a G10 or a LX3... they take great photos in auto or manual modes....something to grow into.

Thanks for the advice guys, I think I'll stick with my point and shoot.
