Oh, be sure the template is printed to scale. Print it and then measure the listed dimension with a ruler. If they don't match, the PDF has been scaled. (I've even started to mount something where the scale was off, so it's a very easy mistake to make. Hadn't drilled any holes yet, fortunately. But still.)
My template is for DEMO bindings. Hopefully you're trying to mount a demo binding with my template, not a regular one. (You do note demo, but I've had people trying to mount regular ones and complaining about my template. So just checking.) As for bit. The sidewall of the ski should give the drill bit size and depth. If not, the general rule is 4.1mm for Carbon or metal, 3.6 for not. Tap if there's metal, and you can skip tapping if not. (It's always better to tap, but not required unless there's metal/titanal in the ski binding mount area.) There are a number of good mounting threads - this one is quite good. https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...n-fucking-skis You have to do some reading to glean it, but it's there. You can also ask questions. Cheers! -Greg
Hi Greg, I was checking out your very helpful info on mounting Tyrolla Attack2 Demo bindings. Trying to mount tonight. What size drill bit do you use? US 5/16? Then I’m going to wrap duct tape 9mm down the drill head. What do you think?
