i don't know how to reply to messages but will try here. my hip has bothered me for 25 years but two years ago i hyperextended my back and hip hitting some powder while not paying attention. didn't fall, just got thrown forward. i got bad pain leading to xrays and mri. hip was bone on bone and bad things going on in back. if you have hip pain that is the same, like every time you drive a knee in to carve hard or every time you walk up or down steps your hip could be worn out. get xrays. the surgery couldn't be simpler, it just takes time to grow stuff back. go for anterior approach and a surgeon that has done lots of these. i am walking around after 12 days without a cane but it hurts, just a different pain that is going away instead of getting worse. g'luck, john
